Il Fornaio, a California-based Italian restaurant chain, will pay $3 million to settle a lawsuit from the U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over allegations of “ongoing, continuous and severe” sexual harassment of at least 100 female employees, many of whom were teenagers, the EEOC’s Los Angeles District announced this month. The 2022 lawsuit charged the restaurant chain with creating a sexually hostile work environment for female employees and retaliating against those who reported it. Il Fornaio is headquartered in Corte Madera and operates 15 locations across California and Nevada. Supervisors and employees across multiple locations allegedly subjected female workers to repeated sexual harassment, including “forceful groping in restaurant bathrooms, multiple instances of grabbing female employees’ private parts, requests for sexual favors, and explicit references to sexual activities,” the EEOC said.

A major Ontario condo construction lender says it won’t relax its loan criteria for developers despite a sharp drop in projects and industry calls for more support. In the fourth year of the real estate downturn, developers have been shelving or postponing condo projects because mom-and-pop investors are no longer interested in buying preconstruction units. Individual investors used to account for the vast majority of preconstruction condo purchases in the Toronto region. The lack of investors means that developers cannot sell the amount of units required to qualify for construction financing. Lenders typically require 70 per cent of a project’s units be sold before they will provide the developer with financing to launch construction. “The 70 per cent remains a good metric,” said Kevin VanKampen, head of business banking with Meridian Credit Union, the province’s largest credit union that has been providing condo developers with loans for at least two decades. With condo prices falling, Mr.
When the major AI models updated in September, it seemed to usher in a tide of vibe coded havoc. The use of it in the modding community was divisive enough. Now dedicated platforms have been flushed and flustered by this new unprecedented wave. One popular platform, decomp.dev, has opted to throw in the towel. Not just because of how pervasive AI entries have become in their space, but for more philosophical reasons. They are a decompiling community, and they feel AI does not foster community. “It is now clear that, with the right guidance, human input, and code reviews, AI can expedite the decompilation process in a significant way,” writes the site’s farewell message. “What is also now clear is that the community aspect of decompilation has been broken.” Founded in 2024, the site became a popular destination in the rapidly accelerating modding space. New tools and growing communities have made the rate of long-awaited translation patches and decompiles far more frequent, but the invasion of AI-generated decomps have fractured the scene. Decomp.dev’s reasoning isn’t anti-AI per se, but mournful in nature. Decompiling, in short, means disassembling and reassembling a game’s code.
Acute hemorrhage within the thyroid gland is uncommon but can cause rapid neck swelling and, in severe cases, airway compromise. We report a 65-year-old woman with hypertension and a history of partial thyroidectomy performed more than 25 years earlier who presented with painful neck swelling that developed overnight. The swelling was associated with pain on swallowing, without shortness of breath, voice change, drooling, fever, or recent neck trauma. She was hemodynamically stable with an oxygen saturation of 99% on room air. Examination showed marked neck swelling, thyromegaly, thyroid tenderness, and left-sided neck induration. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) demonstrated a multinodular thyroid with a large heterogeneous mass in the left thyroid lobe causing mass effect and rightward tracheal deviation. Subsequent ultrasonography demonstrated a heterogeneous intrathyroidal collection consistent with hematoma. The patient remained clinically stable and was discharged after approximately five hours of observation. At otolaryngology follow-up 10 days later, repeat ultrasonography showed a progressively enlarging left thyroid nodule, and fine-needle aspiration cytology wa
Primary adrenal insufficiency in childhood is frequently associated with inherited disorders. Lipoid congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (StAR) deficiency is a rare disorder characterized by impaired mitochondrial cholesterol transfer and deficient adrenal and gonadal steroidogenesis. We report a five-year-old child raised as a girl who had been diagnosed with primary adrenal insufficiency at three months of age and was receiving hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone. Physical examination showed female-appearing external genitalia without virilization and Tanner stage I development. Biochemical evaluation demonstrated markedly elevated adrenocorticotropic hormone with profoundly low morning cortisol and globally reduced steroidogenesis, including low 17-hydroxyprogesterone, androstenedione, dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate, and free testosterone. Karyotyping revealed 46,XY. Anti-Müllerian hormone and inhibin B concentrations were compatible with preserved Sertoli cell secretory activity and supported the presence of testicular tissue despite severely impaired androgen production. Electrical storm following myocardial infarction (MI) can be difficult to control when antiarrhythmic drugs and cardioversion fail. We describe a 53-year-old man with hypertension and previously undiagnosed diabetes who presented with an inferolateral ST-segment elevation MI caused by total occlusion of the proximal left circumflex artery, which was treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention and drug-eluting stent placement. He then developed marked leukocytosis with a systemic inflammatory response and acute kidney injury (peak creatinine, 4.03 mg/dL), which resolved with empirical antibiotic therapy and supportive renal care. On day 6, he experienced recurrent syncope associated with sustained monomorphic ventricular tachycardia (VT) that persisted despite intravenous amiodarone and lidocaine, electrolyte correction, and repeated cardioversion, necessitating sedation and mechanical ventilation. Repeat coronary angiography demonstrated a patent stent. VT ceased following an ultrasound-guided left stellate ganglion block (SGB) using 1% lidocaine and dexamethasone, which resulted in Horner syndrome. Antiarrhythmic therapy was continued, and the patient was extubated wit
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Thousands of breast cancer survivors, patients, caregivers and supporters gathered Sunday in Central Park and Jones Beach for the American Cancer Society's annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks, raising awareness about early detection, research and support for those affected by the disease. Organizers expected about 50,000 participants in Central Park and another 70,000 at Jones Beach, creating seas of pink at both events as walkers came together with a shared goal: ending breast cancer. Among those participating in Central Park was breast cancer survivor Deanna, who said she first took part in the walk before learning she had cancer herself. "My first walk with Strides, it was I walked for someone else and I didn't know I had cancer... I was diagnosed in November of 2022 and then I had a double masectomy in 2023. "She credited family members, friends and coworkers for helping her through treatment and said the experience reinforced the importance of hope. "Cancer didn't change or take away my hope. It actually brought me more hope. It's about paying forward," she said.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is still one of the most luxurious off-road SUVs you can buy. It's also one of the most expensive, with the G550 starting at $153,900 (plus $1,150 in destination charges) and the price with options and AMG badges only going up from there. Still, the G-Wagon does stand out defiantly against the crossoverfication of the industry, with its upright boxiness remaining uncompromised from its launch in 1979 all the way up to today. It isn't just a look either. Underneath all the modern Mercedes-Benz luxury remains real ladder-frame off-road credibility, complete with a solid rear axle, mechanically locking differentials, and proper low range gearing.
Fortunately, the G-Class doesn't have exclusive rights to the rolling brick aesthetic, and you can still get some portion of G-Wagon energy for less than a G-Wagon MSRP. From relative up-and-comers like the Ineos Grenadier or the Rivian R1S to historical direct competitors like the Land Rover Defender, you can absolutely capture some of that boxy magic without spending quite as much, and in some cases by spending $100,000 less.

BISMARCK, N. D. (KFYR) - Fall seasons in western and central North Dakota are getting warmer, and local meteorologists say the records prove it. Data shows autumn temperatures across the region are trending warmer, with overnight lows staying well above freezing into October. Forecasters say while the first frost and freeze typically hit western and central North Dakota by mid to late September, several areas only saw their first freeze this week. “I think it’s just like a slow change in the pattern overall. You’re kind of seeing the slow cycle because I did some homework a little bit,” said Heidi Werosta, meteorologist. “And if you look at the years of 1990 to 2024 overall, when you look at the fall season, which is September, October, November, we have seen an increase when you combine the highs and lows, average that out of 3.1 degrees above normal. Meanwhile, then you look at the spring season, March, April, and May, we are looking at a decrease in temperatures of 1.8 degrees.”Werosta said 2021 holds the record for the warmest fall in the region, adding that morning low temperatures continue to see the biggest climb.
