Bristol Old Vic tackles arts ‘emergency’ by bringing the theatre into classrooms
Six young actors step into the spotlight as a reverent silence descends on the hall at City Academy in Bristol. A boy steps forward to pose a central question: “What does it mean to be young in Britain in 2026?”Union jack flags flash across the backdrop as three girls excitedly debate a Spice Girls reunion concert, before the focus swings back to the young boy wrestling with modern British identity. He rattles off a list of familiar cultural touchstones – fish and chips, cups of tea, Butlin’s, David Attenborough, Gogglebox and the England football team, naming heroes such as Jordan Pickford and Jude Bellingham. His tone later turns thoughtful. “I’m not sure I’m going to put an England flag up next tournament,” he admits. “Things feel a bit different. Flags … they should be about unity.”What unfolds over the next 30 minutes is A Brit?ish Museum, a sharp, energetic production written for schools by Muneera Pilgrim. The narrative tackles timely topics, jumping from a year 9 classroom debate over the honours system to a museum field trip where Who Do You Think You Are by the Spice Girls plays alongside exhibits examining colonial history.
Sunseeker vs. Mova: I Tested Two Wire-Free Robot Mowers on My Complex Lawn - CNET
If you’ve been contemplating a robot lawn mower, you likely have a number of questions about how they perform, especially if you have a complicated lawn layout, as I do. When their respective manufacturers offered me the Sunseeker Elite X7 Plus Gen 2 and the Mova Lidax Ultra 2000 AWD for testing, my first concern was whether they’d be able to handle my large, sloped, obstacle-strewn lawn. I was pleasantly surprised across the board. Not only was setting up both mowers relatively simple, but I was also impressed by how consistently they managed my lawn.

Preview: Nimbit Frontier Leans Into Creature Collecting and Cozy Conservation Efforts
We’ve seen a few games dabble in the idea of wildlife conservation. Nintendo tried it with Pokemon Ranger. Apico is about saving bees. Capcom included it in Monster Hunter Stories 3. But with Megasploot’s Nimbit Frontier, we see a creature collector game that is much more focused on conservation efforts than other titles by making the central goal finding critters in roguelike dungeons, nurturing them in your home base, and caring for them so they can be released back into the wild. All of that is also surrounded by actual character care and life sim elements that encourages you to become part of a town and closer to NPCs too. In all honestly, what I’ve sampled so far sort of makes Nimbit Frontier feel like the Pokemon Ranger game I always wanted. Recommended Videos In Nimbit Frontier, our Nimbiteer avatar finds themselves in the town of Star’s End due to townsfolk Yuri and Alice finding a stray Nimbit egg from the Diving Bell during a storm. Our goal is to head into the Underwild nearby to explore and recover the titular Nimbit genetic material from Mimock enemies to restore the lil’ buddies.

Clonal Hematopoiesis and Biological Aging: An Emerging Biomarker for Longevity Medicine - Cureus
Chronological age does not fully capture the substantial interindividual variability in aging, prompting growing interest in biomarkers that reflect biological aging and susceptibility to age-related disease. Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP), characterized by the age-related expansion of hematopoietic clones carrying somatic mutations in the absence of an overt hematologic malignancy, has emerged as a potential link between somatic evolution, chronic inflammation, and age-related disease. This narrative review examines the biological mechanisms linking clonal hematopoiesis to aging, evaluates the evidence supporting CHIP as an emerging biomarker of biological aging, and discusses its potential implications and current limitations in longevity medicine. CHIP becomes increasingly prevalent with age and reflects the interplay between somatic mutation accumulation, clonal selection, and an aging inflammatory microenvironment. Growing evidence links CHIP to epigenetic age acceleration, with associations influenced by the mutated gene, clone size, and clonal architecture. Beyond its established risk of progression to myeloid malignancy, CHIP is associated with cardi

U.S. service member died from fall before Navy-UTSA game - TSN
A member of the Air Force has died from his injuries after he fell while attempting to rappel from the rafters of the Alamodome during a pregame demonstration before UTSA's football game against Navy on Saturday, the Air Force said. The officer appeared to lose control while descending, sliding down the line and crashing to the turf. Medical personnel immediately attended to the officer, and he was taken from the Alamodome on a stretcher and transported to the hospital. "We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred at the start of tonight's game," UTSA said in a statement. HHS Updates Guidelines for Antiretroviral Treatment of HIV - Contagion Live
The guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have been updated with recent, evidence-based consensus of The Panel for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in Adults and Adolescents. Guidelines on antiretroviral treatment of HIV issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) were updated in September to reflect the recent, evidence-based consensus of the Panel for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in Adults and Adolescents with HIV.1The guidelines do not yet include bictegravir/lenacapavir (Bixlenvo), which was approved by the FDA in August and is currently under review by the Panel for a future update. A new section in the Principles of Antiretroviral Therapy discusses selection and optimization of antiretroviral therapy (ART), and offers considerations in the event of virologic failure.

Giuseppe Saglio at LeukO 2026: When CML Stops Responding, What Comes Next? - Oncodaily
A slow molecular response does not always mean treatment failure, and switching TKIs too early may expose patients to unnecessary toxicity. The strongest TKI is not necessarily the best choice for every patient, as age, comorbidities, tolerability, and treatment goals all influence long-term CML management.

How overhead projectors took over your classroom - The Verge
David Pierce is editor-at-large and Vergecast co-host with over a decade of experience covering consumer tech. Previously, at Protocol, The Wall Street Journal, and Wired. It used to be so easy to get away with things in school. The teacher, after all, was always turned around writing at the chalkboard! But then came a bit of technology, previously mostly used for military purposes, called the overhead projector. It would change far more than just the disciplinary record of students everywhere. In this episode of Version History, we tell the story of the overhead projector. David Pierce is joined by The Verge’s Jake Kastrenakes and Stanford professor Antero Garcia to discuss how overhead projectors were developed, how they made their way into classrooms, and how they changed so much about the way kids learn. They also try to figure out why overhead projectors have mostly gone away, and whether the things that replaced them — from PowerPoint presentations to computer screens to those new-fangled smart boards — actually improved on the OHP. This is the final episode of the fifth season of Version History, all about the most iconic school tech.
