Description

A Burnaby, B.C., woman says a telecom delivery scam left her facing more than $4,000 in charges for two devices and two phone lines she says were opened fraudulently. Jeannie Moss says the caller had her phone number and address and appeared to be offering a Rogers device upgrade. After phones arrived at her home, she followed the caller’s instructions and returned the devices using prepaid shipping labels she believed were from Rogers. The telecom giant said it would waive late-payment fees and service charges connected to the two disputed lines, but Moss says she remains responsible for the cost of two devices. Consumer Matters reporter Anne Drewa has the story.
