These tablets are the last ones released before Samsung's more generous support policy. Back in the TouchWiz era, Samsung's reputation for timely software updates wasn't exactly the best. It's thus great to see how far the brand has come in delivering faster updates and providing longer software support for its devices. Samsung is now one of the few Android manufacturers that offers a generously long software support policy, with its recent Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra benefiting from seven years of OS and security updates. Not every tablet Samsung has sold in previous years enjoys that kind of longevity, though.

If you're sold on the idea of a wild, exhilarating Bavarian compact sports sedan but feel you can't cope with daily driving a BMW M3, the tamer, M340i-badged BMWs might appeal. Being upper-trim-level models themselves, these "M3 Lite" models offer similar top-level comfort, handling, and punchy performance without sacrificing efficiency, practicality, or features that make the daily grind more manageable. At the heart of these models is one of the very best inline-6 engines around, the venerable B58 turbocharged mill that has also been used in cars like the A90 Toyota GR Supra and Ineos Grenadier. The energetic engine develops 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, which Car and Driver says allows these rear-wheel-drive compact sports sedans to crack 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds. Behind such an abundance of performance, however, is a car that still suffers from depreciation, even if not quite substantial. Rear-wheel-drive examples of the 2021 BMW 340i originally sold for $55,695 before extras, but you can now find used models from $35,000, according to Kelley Blue Book (KBB) data, which captures used car prices across dealerships.

Trudy strengthened to a category 2 hurricane as it moved toward Mexico’s south-western and west-central Pacific coast on Saturday, the US National Hurricane Center said. A hurricane warning was in effect from Manzanillo in Colima state to Cabo Corrientes in Jalisco. The latest NHC data showed Trudy with maximum sustained winds of 100mph (155km/h) and about 205 miles (330km) south/south-east of Cabo Corrientes and 115 miles (180km) south/south-west of Manzanillo, moving north-west at 10mph (17km/h). Meanwhile, Typhoon Champi strengthened into a category 4 weather system as it moved toward Guam. Trudy’s center was expected to approach the Mexican coast on Saturday and pass near it into Sunday. After the latest warning, Mexico’s government issued a tropical storm warning for Las Islas Marias and discontinued a similar warning for its coast south of Lazaro Cardenas. The Mexican navy urged mariners and coastal residents to exercise extreme caution because of high waves, heavy rain and the risk of rising rivers, flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas.

James McAvoy has starred in films including “Speak No Evil,” “Atonement” and “X-Men: First Class,” but he recently revealed the “only” film he still consistently receives residuals from is M. Night Shyamalan’s 2016 horror “Split.” “You get the odd check for, you know, a couple 100 quid here or sometimes you get checks for, like, 25 cents and you’re like, ‘It literally costs more to post this than it did for me to cash it,’” McAvoy said during a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “But the only one that really consistently pays me is ‘Split.’”

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) Nikolaj Ehlers scored a power-play goal 6:43 into the third period to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to their seventh straight victory, 3-2 over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. The former Jet fired a wrist shot past the glove of Clay Stevenson. Mark Jankowski - also on the power play - and Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored for Carolina as well. Hurricanes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere had two assists. Pyotr Kochetkov made 21 saves and has posted victories in all five starts this season. With fewer than 40 seconds remaining, Kochetkov made a pad save on Cole Perfetti, following that up with a save on 18-year-old Viggo Bjorck off the helmet to preserve Carolina’s lead. Mark Scheifele and Alex Iafallo scored for Winnipeg, which lost its first game this season on home ice in regulation. Stevenson stopped 34 shots. Winnipeg held 1-0 and 2-1 leads, before trailing in the third period. The Jets are 1-1 in matinee games this season, with nine more to play. After a three-game point drought to start the year, Scheifele is now riding a five-game point streak with two goals and six assists.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Nikita Kucherov scored twice, Jake Guentzel had a goal and an assist, and Dennis Hildeby stopped 12 shots as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-2 on Saturday. Guentzel scored the winner in the third period as Tampa Bay came back from a two-goal deficit. Pontus Holmberg also scored and Brayden Point finished with two assists for Tampa Bay, which improved to 5-0 at home. Linus Karlsson and Elias Pettersson scored while Kevin Lankinen finished with 31 saves for the Canucks, who finished winless (0-4-1) on a five-game road trip. Vancouver is winless in the past seven games (0-6-1) overall. Guentzel picked up the winner at 2:04 of the third after Charle-Edouard D'Astous slid a pass off the wall to Guentzel for the quick snap shot that deflected off the stick of Vancouver's Liam Ohgren. For the second consecutive game, the Canucks had a 2-0 lead they were not able to hold. Karlsson put Vancouver up 1-0 at 15:32 of the first period with a shot from the right point. Pettersson put the Canucks up 2-0 with a power-play goal at 4:35 of the second period. Kucherov scored twice in the span of 4:53 to pull the Lightning even.

Since its inception in 1990, the Human Genome Project has led to breakthroughs in our understanding of genetics. In April 2003, the project was declared complete after scientists determined the sequence of the 3 billion chemical base pairs that make up human DNA. Alas, many questions remain about the physical rules governing a genome's organization. Among them is the question of how gravity influences life on Earth, right down to the mitochondrial level. A new study led by researchers at the Center for Soft Matter Research at New York University (NYU) seeks to address this question to help mitigate the effects of spaceflight. Behind their work is an innovative technique for creating a microgravity environment to reveal gravity's impact on human cells. This research has two goals: to isolate gravity's impact on human genes and to show how the genome functions in zero gravity.
