We spoke with Jeffrey Rath, prominent conservative political activist and co-founder of the Alberta Prosperity Project, as the first round of results were reported in Monday's Alberta referendum - one showing a major surge for voters choosing to remain a part of Canada. Rath shrugged off the early results, saying that in his view it's still important to recognize the "hundreds of thousands" of people who voted to leave Canada. Rath also said in his view, Alberta seperatism will never be realized as long as "avowed federalist" Danielle Smith leads the United Conservative Party (UCP).
