Alberta referendum: Elections official questioned about delays in opening some voting locations

Description

Several voting locations in Alberta remained open later Monday after delays prevented them from opening on time, affecting when unofficial referendum results will be released. Elections Alberta spokesperson Michelle Gurney speaks with us about the reason behind those delays, why the province can't report referendum results (yet), and the strain overall on Elections Alberta when it comes to this referendum with over 47,000 election workers hired. Elections Alberta officials said unofficial results will only begin to be released once all voting locations across the province are confirmed closed. Because of delays earlier in the day, the last voting location is not expected to close before 10 p.m. For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/12105970/alberta-referendum-voting-coverage-results/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on TikTok HERE: https://www.tiktok.com/@globalnews.ca?lang=en #GlobalNews #cdnpoli #canada #alberta
