Description

Could one of the reasons for the high voter turnout at the historic Alberta referendum be Prime Minister Mark Carney's popularity amongst Albertans? Last week, Prime Minister Mark Carney wrapped up his two-day, pro-Canada barnstorming tour of Alberta by rallying with thousands of supporters in his hometown of Edmonton. “Alberta’s my home... I grew up here,” Carney said as thousands of attendees erupted in cheers — specifically when he talked about the Pacific Link pipeline project. However, there is debate on whether or not the Liberal prime minister has reset the province's relationship with Ottawa, or if nothing has changed. Global's Blake Lough spoke with former MLA's Shannon Phillips and Drew Barnes, on Carney's popularity and what results they expect to see from question 10 on the referendum ballot.
