Has Devon Levi become the go-to goalie for the Oilers? - Oilers Nation

As the injuries and line juggling continue for the Edmonton Oilers, fans are seeing some offseason work by GM Stan Bowman already paying dividends. While the mood may have been dampened a bit by the Oilers’ first regulation loss on Thursday night against the Utah Mammoth, the team has had an excellent start. While the top line, Evan Bouchard, and even Ryan Shea continue to grab the headlines, fans should also be encouraged by what they’re seeing in the Oilers’ crease. The Oilers traded Stuart Skinner for Tristan Jarry last season, a move that felt necessary at the time. The experiment didn’t go well, with Jarry getting injured shortly after joining the Oilers and ultimately losing the net to Connor Ingram. Jarry had stretches of success in his NHL career but hasn’t been able to sustain it. The Oilers hoped a change of scenery, back to a place where he had success in junior, would light a fire last season, and it didn’t. That made shoring up the crease a top priority in the offseason for Oilers’ brass. Enter Devon Levi. On July 1, 2026, the Oilers acquired Levi and a seventh-round pick from the Buffalo Sabres, in exchange for a third-round pick.
