Tiny Titan: new residential battery system from EcoFlow starts small

EcoFlow is hoping to make a titanic splash with its new, smaller (but scalable!) residential energy storage lineup that the company is calling a more approachable entry point to its backup battery offerings. EcoFlow’s new, three-model Titan 5000 range of home backup batteries starts off relatively small with “just” a single, 5 kWh energy storage module that’s enough to keep your refrigerator, lights and Wi-Fi going while keeping your phone and laptop batteries charged. That’s just the start, however, as the system is designed to easily scale up with the addition of more 5,000 Wh modules (hence, the name) to meet your more substantial energy needs — all the way up to 30 kWh.

New Roadster Will Be The Last Tesla People Can Actually Drive

Chris joined CarBuzz in June 2025. He's held positions at Ford and Motor1, and contributed to Autoblog, Car Throttle, Auto Trader, and many other motoring outlets during his 28-year career. Chris holds a BA in English from Western Michigan University and an AA in Journalism. Growing up in the 1980s in the shadow of Detroit, Chris didn't realize he was witnessing a turning point in automotive history. He just thought digital dashes and pop-up headlights were cool, and no car could ever be as awesome as KITT from Knight Rider. He also came from a car-crazy family, so when he graduated from college with English and Journalism degrees, he applied his communication talents to the wild world of cars.

447 Miles And 16 Hours: The Cops In New Zealand May Have The Longest Recorded Car Chase

Cop car chases can sometimes make for excellent television. Will the suspect evade? Will the cops jump their cruiser at 100 mph? Will one of those massive Randy's Donuts break free from its building and come to aid of the constabulary? There are so many questions, and there are even more possibilities. But have you ever wondered what the longest-ever cop car chase is? The answer is a simply mind-boggling 16 hours. That's right, 16 hours. You could fly from New York to Hong Kong in that time and still have minutes to spare. It's frankly beyond us how one person's mental and physical fortitude can last so long, because it's not as if they spent that time racing an M3 wagon around the Nürburgring.

Lucid Air Lease Deals & Finance Offers: Is It Worth It?

Gilbert Smith is an automotive journalist with over five years of specialized research and writing experience. Before joining CarBuzz in 2024, he produced in-depth buyer’s guides and feature articles for Vehicle History, focusing on practical insights and detailed automotive analysis. It may look futuristic, but the Lucid Air feels like a throwback to a time when all EVs were luxury cars that started at $70,000, because the tax credits would take the sting off. Thankfully, Lucid is getting with the times with some attractive lease offers.

You Can Run Ford's EcoBoost Engines On Regular, But There's A Benefit To Premium

Higher octane ratings will cost you more but it could be worth the price Regular and premium gasoline may look and smell the same, but they differ in many key ways. In the U. S., most regular pump gas has an octane rating of 87, while premium gas generally ranges from 91 to 94 octane. The increased octane rating means premium gas is better for performance and is often recommended for use in supercharged, turbocharged, and high-compression engines. And in the Ford world, regular and premium gas can mean the difference between an engine that's constrained and one that produces maximum power.

Toyota Dominates at Halfway Mark of WEC’s Inaugural 6 Hours of Barcelona

After their maiden pole in the World Endurance Challenge, Genesis Magma Racing faced its first in-race wet-weather test at the start of the 6 Hours of Barcelona and lost position to the series' more senior statesman. On a chaotic first lap, Andre Lotterer in the No. 17 GMR-001 lost the lead to its sister car, the No. 19 piloted by Dani Juncadella. But it didn’t last long, as Lotterer faded in the early race bottlenecks; Juncadella went wide and into a gravel trap in turn five. A spinning Mercedes GT3 brought out the first full course yellow, followed by a safety car as the rain continued to pour. With the Genesis fading, the championship-leading No. 8 Toyota took the lead of the penultimate race, with Sebastien Buemi taking the lead from his front-row start by the end of lap one. The No. 8 and No. 7 Toyota TR010 Hybrids went on to control the first half of the race, with Nyck de Vries muscling the No. 7 up from ninth to second in the opening hour. A five-second penalty for Buemi gave the second Toyota the lead early in the second hour.

Since 2025, he has contributed to CarBuzz, blending his engineering background and almost 20 years of automotive journalism experience to deliver cutting-edge news and analysis. The fire occurred at the Frank Kent Cadillac dealership located in the west of the city late Friday afternoon and was put out by the Fort Worth Fire Department. As the department's photos show, the battle must have been intense. But why did the blaze take so long to extinguish? Because a bunch of electric vehicles got caught in it.

What's Your Worst Stranded On The Side Of The Road Story?

There are a litany of things more terrifying that could happen to you in the car than just being stranded on the side of the road. It's scary and inconvenient, sure, but imagine that beat to hell Nissan Altima you've been keeping at a distance of two to five car-lengths suddenly being next to you on the highway, or coming up hot behind you as you need to suddenly stop. I, admittedly, have a small fear of being stranded. Part of that fear comes from a story I once heard from a close family friend — the story was about a patrolman who had died after being struck by a car during a traffic stop. So, parking on the side of the road, even when my car is breaking down, has always felt to me like a sketchy enterprise at best. The other part of my fear of being stranded stems from being a woman and the type of attention that attracts.

We Spied The Facelifted Santa Fe That Will Be Hyundai's First Range-Extender Hybrid

The body of the updated Santa Fe remains basically the same, though there may be some slight tweaks to the fender insert treatment. Up front, it'll get a similar treatment to the new Tucson, with tall blade-like running lights at the edges of the nose, an almost-full-width light bar running between them, and headlights hidden in small pods. It probably won't have as prominent of a grille, and it looks like the front bumper is chunkier and a little simpler. It has a similar taillight treatment at the rear, and while you can't see it, there should be a light bar running across the tailgate. You obviously can't tell from these photos, but the Santa Fe will get Hyundai Motor Group's new Pleos Connect infotainment system, which will be part of a major overhaul of its dashboard and center console. (It's already leaked, as you can see above.) A large center touchscreen will be paired with a slim gauge display in front of the driver, and there are more physical controls present.

Driven: The 2027 Polaris RZR Pro R Boost Puts the Hurt on Dirt

Is there a better state than Utah? It has everything an outdoor enthusiast could ever ask for. On top of that, the land formations created by millions of years of natural events make for some of the most entertaining and challenging off-road terrain rubber has ever dug into. They also deliver some epic views—although from behind the wheel of a high-performance side-by-side, you might never see them. Polaris’s newest world-blurring buggy is the RZR Pro R Boost. Available in a two-seat configuration starting at $51,994 or a four-seat for $55,994, this 275-hp behemoth is the king of the mountain. Or the sand dune. Maybe even a steep rock wall. Building off the existing Pro R platform, Polaris massaged most of its bones. The DOHC 2.0-liter inline-four now has different internals to handle the pressure administered by the large 60-mm turbo that’s become the life of the party. The 275 horses make this the most powerful buggy available, topping the Can-Am Maverick R’s 240 horsepower and the Kawasaki Teryx H2’s 250 ponies. The competition cannot come close to its 223 pound-feet of torque.

11 Japanese Performance Cars That Will Make You Nostalgic For The '90s

Few things evoke '90s nostalgia in a gearhead as much as a Japanese performance car. Call it a biased enthusiast view, but really, the roster of icons that Japan churned out during this decade was just absurd: the MkIV Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline GT-R, Honda NSX, and Mazda RX-7. And that's before we mention the all-wheel-drive (AWD) rally homologation specials, front-wheel-drive hot hatches, mid-engine fun machines, and other iconic rear-wheel-drive sports cars. The fact is, those four heavy hitters still hog the spotlight today. Yes, for people who lived in the 1990s, they don't just evoke nostalgia; it's like they never left the 1990s. But instead of allowing these four cars to steal all the thunder, for this piece, we're focusing on all the other Japanese performance cars that remain undisputed '90s royalty even if they don't dominate the algorithms today. Cars that showcased Japanese factory engineering and won over fans worldwide — even those who only experienced them via a dual-shock controller in "Gran Turismo. " We are talking legends like the Toyota Celica GT-Four, Nissan Silvia S14, and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V. Feeling nostalgic yet? We're just getting warmed up.
