EcoFlow is hoping to make a titanic splash with its new, smaller (but scalable!) residential energy storage lineup that the company is calling a more approachable entry point to its backup battery offerings.

EcoFlow’s new, three-model Titan 5000 range of home backup batteries starts off relatively small with “just” a single, 5 kWh energy storage module that’s enough to keep your refrigerator, lights and Wi-Fi going while keeping your phone and laptop batteries charged. That’s just the start, however, as the system is designed to easily scale up with the addition of more 5,000 Wh modules (hence, the name) to meet your more substantial energy needs — all the way up to 30 kWh.

I’ve Become Obsessed With Model Trains, And It’s Already More Expensive Than Some Car Repairs Are

Like any lifelong railfan, I’ve been addicted to trains since I was a kid. I can prattle on all day about my favorite Chicago Metra locomotive, or about how Chicago became the rail capital of America. Usually, I just use The Autopian as my outlet for the thoughts rattling around in my brain. Recently, I finally took my enthusiasm down to the small scale. In doing so, I’ve discovered that tiny trains are gloriously fun, but also ludicrously expensive. I think I’ve spent more on scale trains than I have on my last car repair. I don’t know when the exact moment was that I fell in love with trains, but I do know it happened in my childhood. One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to watch Wisconsin Central freight trains passing through Lake County, Illinois. The images of those red and yellow locomotives remain burned into my memory more than two decades later. Nowadays, I find myself going to that same depot in Antioch, only now the trains are emblazoned with Canadian National logos.

The Answer To Balancing Your Budget With High Gas Prices Is A Costco Date Night

We may receive a commission on purchases made from links. Life is expensive and only getting more so with each passing day. It's like you're always stuck in second gear. Your job's a joke, you're broke, etcetera. Recently, my favorite way to turn a day around, spend some time with my loving spouse, and not deplete my wallet is to drive to the nearest Costco. No matter what state you're in (geographically, financially, or emotionally), the Costco food court can be a shining beacon of anti-inflationary eating, as you walk in and grab a glorious quarter-pound tube of meat smushed into a moist white bread envelope for just one dollar and fifty cents. That's not all, though, as the Costco Hot Dog also comes with a refillable container for Coca-Cola products.

Max Verstappen Responds to Hate Comments Directed at GTWC Teammate

Max Verstappen took part in his first GT World Challenge Europe race at Portimão Saturday afternoon, piloting his Team Verstappen No. 3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the closing 45-minute stint. But some fans online were not happy about why Verstappen inherited the car so far back in the field. After several successful overtakes in the 3-hour GT race, Chris Lulham spun the NO. 48 Mercedes of Stolz while trying to take fifth place. The failed overtake earned Lulham a drive-through penalty, and he served it right around the time he was scheduled to hand over driving duties to Verstappen. Verstappen got into the car a few laps later after the penalty was served in 24th. A safety car bunched up the field, and Verstappen had the chance to race up to ninth and fifth in his class. Sunday morning, Verstappen posted on X that he did not find the fans' personal attacks against his teammate okay. “Exciting weekend!” Verstappen wrote. “Was very happy to be racing our GT3 car in Portimão. There were some ups and downs, but as a team we [learned] a lot. “I also feel I need to speak up about the hate and harassment Chris has received after the race.
