Environmental advocates hold a news conference on Parliament Hill to discuss their opposition to a part of the proposed Bill C-31 (Budget 2025 Implementation Act, No. 2) which they say would weaken pesticide regulation. Speaking are Maxime Blanchette-Joncas (Bloc MP), Leah Gazan (NDP MP), Elizabeth May (Green Party Leader), Gérald Chouinard (victim of pesticide-induced Parkinson's disease), Heather Kharouba (professor at the University of Ottawa), Phil Mount (policy director for the National Farmers Union), and Lisa Gue (national policy manager for the David Suzuki Foundation).
