One user interface, multiple autonomous systems: Forterra debuts OASIS-OneLink technology - Defense News

Forterra's MESA, a modular autonomous vehicle that uses the company's OASIS-Fabric network, drives along a muddy track. (Photo courtesy of Forterra)Defense tech company Forterra introduced a new platform on Monday at the Association of the United States Army conference in Washington that will allow service members to control different autonomous systems using one user interface. OASIS-OneLink builds upon Forterra’s OASIS-Fabric, a shared data network that allows unmanned machines to connect in communication-degraded environments where they can’t log onto a shared data grid. “Requiring operators to start an integration process from scratch every time a new system is introduced is both inefficient and burdensome for the end user,” Phil Cotter, Forterra’s head of growth, told Military Times. “OneLink gives operators one place from which to monitor and command, and it’s designed to grow and adapt as mission requirements change.”OASIS-Fabric was essentially the internet, but for battlefield products, according to Jenna Tuck, vice president of distributed warfare at Forterra. While Fabric provided a new way for machines to connect, OneLink provides a new way to control them.

Nvidia and Micron Technology Just Received Some Very Bad News From an Unlikely Place - The Motley Fool

Australia is a relatively small country by population, with just 28 million citizens. But it has become a major hub for artificial intelligence (AI) data center projects because of its vast land mass and favorable political climate. In fact, an Australian company called Firmus built a data center in Melbourne that houses the largest cluster of Nvidia's (NVDA -1.43%) Blackwell Ultra chips in the entire Southern Hemisphere. Last week, Firmus was on track for one of the biggest initial public offerings (IPOs) in the history of the Australian stock market, which would've raised approximately $5 billion (U. S. dollars) at a $30 billion valuation. The company was going to use the funds to build more data centers across Australasia in order to expand its customer base, which already includes OpenAI and Meta Platforms.

Standardize to sustain: Building a resilient K-12 technology strategy - eSchool News

A K-12 device purchase sets years of work in motion. Long after the procurement paperwork is signed, district teams are left to deploy, secure, repair, update, and eventually replace student and staff devices. The time required for those recurring tasks dictates device availability, determines how much capacity the technology team has for core instructional priorities, and ultimately decides whether technology can reliably support classrooms over time. In many districts, decentralized technology budgets obscure this operational reality. When funding flows directly to individual school sites, principals purchase what looks most appealing for their specific classrooms. The result is a fractured fleet, a mix of hardware platforms and configurations across the district, with some schools running outdated equipment and no centralized way to support any of it. School leaders should not have to act as technology directors. Their focus should be on the students, staff, teaching, learning and running the school building, not on whether a new teacher or student will have a dependable device.
