ADHERE REAL Study to Assess Real-World Effectiveness of Efgartigimod in CIDP - NeurologyLive
News|Articles|September 30, 2026 A new study will follow adults with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy who start subcutaneous efgartigimod in routine practice in the US and Germany. A prospective, multicenter real-world study, dubbed ADHERE REAL (NCT07264426), will evaluate the effectiveness of subcutaneous efgartigimod PH20 (Vyvgart Hytrulo; argenx) in adults with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). The study will also characterize patients' treatment journeys and health care resource utilization.1Efgartigimod is an FDA-approved, human IgG1 antibody Fc fragment that blocks the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn), reducing IgG recycling and lowering circulating IgG levels. Presented at the 2026 American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Annual Meeting, held September 29 to October 2, in Orlando, Florida, ADHERE REAL is intended to extend findings from the registrational ADHERE trial into routine clinical practice. Presented by lead author Jana Zschüntzsch, MD, senior consultant for neurology at University Medical Center Göttingen, the study will enroll adults with CIDP across the US and Germany.

Developing a peer-led approach to assess the oral health needs and experiences of people in prison and on release - Nature
BackgroundGlobally, an estimated 11.5 million people are held in prisons, and in most countries the prison population is increasing [1]. People in prison experience multiple disadvantages such as prior experience of homelessness, substance use, mental ill-health, and higher exposure to trauma and abuse [2,3,4]. They face significantly poorer mental and physical health compared with the general population [5]. Whilst these inequalities are partly due to higher health needs on entering prison, the prison system itself can contribute to poor health due to structural and environmental barriers [6]. These challenges persist for individuals released from prison, who often face difficulties navigating community healthcare and experience interruptions in care [7]. The health inequalities people in prison face extend to oral health, they have a higher prevalence of untreated dental decay and periodontal disease, and the prevalence of dental infections is five times greater than in the general population [8,9,10]. People in prison are also more likely to suffer from substance use disorders, which is associated with poor oral health [11, 12].
