Sabres' Caleb Jones: Shipped to Sabres - CBS Sports

Jones, alongside Daniel Laatsch, was traded to Buffalo from Pittsburgh on Monday in exchange for Ryan Johnson. Jones is off to a productive start to the 2026-27 AHL season, and the Sabres took notice, bringing him in as a part of Monday's trade. The 29-year-old blueliner posted three assists, a plus-3 rating and five shots on net across four games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He also appeared in seven games for the Penguins in 2025-26. While he'll likely spend the majority of the new season with AHL Rochester following the trade, there's a chance he could be called upon to make some appearances at the highest level this season, given his track record of playing in 255 NHL regular-season contests across his eight-year career. Penguins' Caleb Jones: Delivers trio of helpers in AHL win

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba falls in latest CBS Sports MVP rankings - AOL.ca

Matt Legros, Seahawks Wiresam. 10 octobre 2026 à 9 h 27 p.m. UTCSeattle Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba has had a brilliant start to the 2026 season so far, but a quieter performance by his standards in Week 4 may have impacted his standing in the MVP race. CBS Sports ranked Smith-Njigba No. 8 overall in their latest MVP rankings and highlighted his historic pace as reason for him being in the top 10 through the early part of the year. “Like any non-quarterback, Smith-Njigba has little margin for error if he wants to be the first receiver to win league MVP,” CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo said. “That's the main reason why he fell five spots in this week's standings... Smith-Njigba fell from first to third in the NFL in receiving yards this week, but he is still leading the league in touchdown catches and remains on pace to break Calvin Johnson's single-season record.”Smith-Njigba has recorded 481 receiving yards and six REC touchdowns thus far this season. He has led the Seahawks to a 3-1 record on the year, including big wins over the New England Patriots in Week 1 and the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.

Patriots put WR Mack Hollins on injured reserve - NBC Sports

The Patriots could get A. J. Brown back soon, but they’ll be without wide receiver Mack Hollins for at least the next four games. Hollins was placed on injured reserve Saturday due to the calf injury he suffered in the second half of last Sunday’s win over the Bills. He was ruled out for this weekend’s game against the Raiders on Friday. Romeo Doubs, Efton Chism, Pop Douglas, and Kyle Williams are the remaining wideouts on the 53-man roster. Brown could be activated as soon as Week 6 as the Raiders game will be the fourth he misses with an ankle injury. The Patriots also placed fullback Reggie Gilliam (ankle, knee) on injured reserve. Special teamer Brenden Schooler was activated from the non-football injury list and cornerback Kindle Vildor was signed off the practice squad to fill the openings on the 53-man roster. The Patriots elevated linebacker K. J. Britt and safety Elliott Davison from the practice squad to round out the day’s moves.

Dolphins defensive lineman Kenneth Grant is set to make his 2026 debut. Grant was activated from injured reserve on Saturday, which clears the way for him to play against the Bengals on Sunday. He has been sidelined by a toe injury. The Dolphins took Grant with the 13th overall pick in the 2025 draft. He had 33 tackles and two sacks during his rookie season. Quarterback Brady Cook was waived to make room for Grant on the 53-man roster. Kyle McCord is now the sole backup to Malik Willis in Miami. The Dolphins also announced that they have elevated defensive end Rodney McGraw and running back Carlos Washington.

SALMON ARM — With new lightning up and running, Salmon Arm’s artificial sports field at Blackburn Park is officially complete and ready for play to go on after the sun sets. City officials said the new lights will allow the community to take advantage of the field at the days get shorter. Until November 1, the lights will remain on until 9 p.m. every night for local teams and residents to enjoy the turf. “If the field is not booked, residents are welcome to kick a ball around, go for a run or simply enjoy the field under the lights.
