Description

A Weather Channel Mini-Documentary Long after the flames are out, a wildfire leaves behind a trail of evidence. Elite fire investigators are trained to read it. Fire investigators walk the burn, narrowing the blaze indicators down through what they call the "area of confusion" until they reach the ignition area. Char acts as a compass and grass points back toward where the fire came from. Once they've pinned the origin, the question shifts to how it started, a jigsaw puzzle of witnesses, weather, fuels and physical evidence that feeds directly into preventing the next fire. This film is part of a special Weather Channel mini-documentary series exploring the people, places and experiences behind extreme weather and natural disasters. Through immersive storytelling and firsthand accounts, the series goes beyond the forecast to reveal what it’s really like to live through, and fight, the forces of nature.
