What industry must get right to accelerate technology adoption in the IC - Washington Technology
To succeed, contractors must align with a mission need, plan for security and integration, understand the budget and contracting path, and identify who will own the capability if it succeeds, writes Shelby Pierson, principal at Deep Water Point Associates. The U. S. intelligence community is working to improve how it buys and adopts technology. Progress varies across agencies, but the direction is clear: the IC needs faster and more flexible ways to bring commercial software, cloud computing, geospatial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other emerging capabilities into mission workflows. Commercial technology often moves faster than government budgeting, acquisition, security, and integration processes. Artificial intelligence models and cloud software can evolve in weeks, while government adoption can take far longer. That gap can leave analysts and operators without timely access to the best available tools.

These features were previously concentrated in the more expensive hybrid versions. Sedan pricing starts at an MSRP of $29,090 or $32,544 with fees (this is now the least expensive Civic) for the LX. The Sport-L sedan carries an MSRP of $33,550 or $37.004 with fees.

New SPARCS technology combines AI and microscopy to screen cells - News-Medical
New technology combines artificial intelligence and microscopy to screen cells at large scale. A new technology promises to enable more comprehensive investigations into how individual genes determine the appearance and behavior of cells: Researchers led by Professor Veit Hornung at LMU's Gene Center and Professor Matthias Mann at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, together with Professor Fabian Theis at Helmholtz Munich, have developed SPARCS, a technology that combines artificial intelligence with microscopy and genetic screening. It enables researchers to screen millions of genetically modified cells for complex visual features and then selectively isolate individual cells of interest. Using SPARCS, cellular effects can thus be linked to the genetic changes that cause them. The findings have now been published in the journal Cell.

3D printing-inspired technology can improve dosing accuracy for personalized medicines - News-Medical
Technology inspired by 3D printing is already being introduced in hospitals and specialized pharmacies to produce personalized medicines tailored to individual patients. In her doctoral thesis at Åbo Akademi University, Mahsa Bahman investigated how the approach can improve dosing accuracy and make customized treatments more widely available. Many medicines today are produced in standard doses, even though patients often have very different treatment needs. In her doctoral thesis in drug development at Åbo Akademi University, Mahsa Bahman investigated a technology that could make it easier to produce medicines tailored to individual patients, helping improve dose accuracy and access to treatment.

Fast-tracking innovation: how U of A researchers can explore their discovery's commercial potential - University of Alberta
Many researchers don't think to protect their intellectual property until it's too late. Technology Transfer Services (TTS) at the University of Alberta created the Prospector program to connect researchers with the TTS team in the early stages of researchers’ discoveries for a no-obligation assessment of commercialization potential. The program was developed under Dr. David Bressler, vice-president (International, Innovation and Enterprise), as part of U of A’s Innovation goal to increase the number and quality of invention disclosures, and make technology transfer more accessible. Joanna Preston, director of TTS, says researchers can find it difficult to identify the commercial potential of their work, particularly because researchers have varying levels of experience recognizing ideas that could become new products or services. For instance, Dr. R. Glen Uhrig, associate professor of plant and crop functional genomics in the Faculty of Science, says Prospector has saved him "hours of time" compared to his provisional patent work before the program was available. Unlike a traditional report of invention, Prospector requires no forms at the early stage.

Red Deer students attend hands-on technology camp - Red Deer Advocate
Two dozen Grade 8 students from Normandeau School and Escuela Vista Grande recently put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work during a hands-on technology camp at Red Deer Polytechnic. Students spent the day assembling motorized cars, applying their skills in electrical circuits and soldering while using a variety of tools to bring their projects to life at a Drive the Circuit camp, the first Central Alberta Collegiate Institute (CACI) camp of the school year.

Stock of the Week: Marvell Technology and the Race for AI Infrastructure’s Most Valuable Resource - XTB.com
The development of artificial intelligence has created a new problem for the semiconductor industry. Increasing the computing power of chips is not enough if data cannot be delivered to them quickly enough. As a result, memory is becoming increasingly important, as is the infrastructure responsible for moving data between memory, compute chips, and the other components of servers. This so-called “memory wall” could become one of the most important constraints on the continued development of AI infrastructure. This is the problem Marvell Technology aims to capitalize on. The company does not manufacture memory chips themselves, but provides technologies that allow their capacity, bandwidth, and availability to be used more efficiently. Memory controllers, CXL solutions, switches, optical connectivity, PCIe technologies, and custom-designed chips are creating an increasingly important infrastructure layer between memory and compute.
