Arista Networks vs. International Business Machines: Which Technology Stock Is a Better Buy in 2026? - The Motley Fool

Choosing between Arista Networks (ANET -4.63%) and International Business Machines (IBM -0.85%) in 2026 requires balancing high-octane infrastructure demand with stable, diversified software and consulting services amid an evolving technology landscape. Arista Networks specializes in high-speed switches for massive data centers, while International Business Machines focuses on hybrid cloud and AI platforms. Both benefit from the artificial intelligence boom, but they offer different financial profiles. One is a high-growth hardware leader, whereas the other is a legacy giant undergoing a steady transformation. The case for Arista NetworksArista Networks designs networking products for cloud titans and enterprise data centers. Its focus on "Scale Up" and "Scale Out" networking helps customers meet the high data demands of artificial intelligence clusters. Large purchases by a limited number of customers continue to account for a substantial share of revenue, and such customer concentration adds a layer of risk to the business. In FY 2025, revenue reached nearly $9.0 billion, which was an increase of approximately 28.6% over the previous year.

Naval Group and Marine Technology Center of Sweden sign research MoU - Nordic Defence Sector

French naval shipbuilder Naval Group and the Marine Technology Center of Sweden (MTC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Stockholm on 12 October. The agreement covers research and innovation in naval defence and maritime technology.— Together we can accelerate joint development, innovation and testing in Sweden, said Emmanuel Brochard, Director of International R&D Cooperations at Naval Group. According to Naval Group, the cooperation will include communications, autonomous systems, protection of critical seabed infrastructure and digital ship architectures. The partners say it should strengthen Sweden’s maritime sovereignty. MTC is a collaborative platform based in Karlskrona. It brings together industry, academia and the public sector to test and demonstrate maritime solutions.— Our ambition is to accelerate maritime innovation and turn international cooperation into concrete results that contribute to maritime security in the Baltic Sea region and in Europe, said David Appelberg, Director of MTC. The MoU comes six weeks after Naval Group signed a contract to deliver four defence and intervention frigates (FDI) to the Royal Swedish Navy.

How European Surveillance Technology Facilitates Repression in Egypt and MENA - The Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy -

In October 2023, I provided expert testimony to a European court investigating surveillance technology used to facilitate human rights abuses across North Africa. For hours, I walked the judges through the mechanics of these digital tools, and how they directly enable security forces to abduct, forcibly disappear, and torture people. This investigation, which is still ongoing, is not an isolated event but the result of sustained collective efforts by human rights organizations and activists. Two years earlier, in a landmark decision by authorities in Paris, the French firm Nexa Technologies (formerly Amesys) was indicted for complicity in acts of torture and enforced disappearance. The case centered on the company’s sale of the “Cerebro” system to the Egyptian government. Cerebro functioned as a mass surveillance net, allowing security services to monitor electronic communications, track individual targets, and harvest private messages in real time.

How to evaluate AI technology for investigations - Thomson Reuters Legal Solutions

What every law enforcement agency needs to knowHighlightsOfficers are already using AI faster than most agencies have policies to guide it. Consumer AI tools skip citations and audit trails, creating real risk for evidence and cases. A structured framework — covering data sourcing, courtroom defensibility, ROI, and documentation — helps agencies choose AI tools that hold up under scrutiny. Artificial intelligence isn’t a future consideration for law enforcement anymore. It’s already inside the tools officers use every day to draw insights from public records. A recent Police1 webcast in partnership with Thomson Reuters “How to Evaluate AI Technology for Investigations” brought together Edgar Gallardo and Michael Murphy, both former officers now working for Thomson Reuters, along with Andrew Pellington, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Thomson Reuters, to unpack one practical question. How should agencies vet an AI tool before it touches an investigation? Poll results from the session tell part of the story. 72% of attendees said their agency is already using or evaluating AI tools, and 87% said they believe AI is helping public safety.
