Red Wings' GM Sets Asking Price For Dylan Larkin Trade - NHL Trade Rumors

Detroit Red Wings interim general manager Shawn Horcoff has the tall task of trying to trade Dylan Larkin, and according to TSN's Darren Dreger, it sounds like Horcoff has set his asking price. Larkin demanded a trade over the summer, had his 'C' ripped off his jersey, and now is in the awkward stage of playing through the trade talks. Dreger feels Horcoff will be looking for three or four pieces for his skilled center. Darren Dreger: Re Dylan Larkin trade request/Red Wings: Three or four pieces is what Shawn Horcoff is looking for; you’re talking about two A-quality prospects...a top-nine forward who can play...right now, and... a 1st - Early Trading (10/15)The issue for this trade is the team's Larkin has approved on his no-trade clause. There's been speculation of up to 12 teams on Larkin's wish list, however, most, if not all of the teams, are playoff-bound contenders, who don't have the cap space to make Larkin's $8 million cap hit fit. The Minnesota Wild have been reportedly making a strong run recently by upping their offers, as Wild GM Bill Guerin continues to search for a top-line center.

Dream or Valkyries? Expert Picks, Predictions for the WNBA Finals - Sports Illustrated

Have you missed the playoffs? We sure have. It’s been a week since the Dream swept the Liberty and the Valkyries took care of the defending-champion Aces with ease. Since then, Atlanta finally decided on a home for the WNBA Finals (thankfully it landed the big spot), Dream guard Allisha Gray had a minor procedure on her left hand and Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase realized that maybe she’s been a little too excited to watch film lately.  With the 2026 WNBA Finals set to tip off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, it’s time for some predictions. So, who will win it all for the first time in franchise history? Will it be the history-making second-year expansion team? Or the side that hasn’t been this deep in the playoffs in over a decade? Our experts make their picks. What was the biggest surprise of the first two rounds? Clare Brennan: Isobel Borlase. The Dream rookie was an impact bench player for Atlanta through the regular season, but she has stepped up in her first WNBA playoff run. With Allisha Gray sidelined through most of the semifinals with a finger injury, the Dream needed to get the most out of their reserves, and Borlase delivered.

NBA tells sportsbooks to stop certain bets, restrict parlays - TSN

The NBA is prohibiting certain types of bets this season, including a player prop parlay used by gamblers in recent betting scandals, according to a league memo distributed to sportsbook partners Friday. Bettors will not be able to include the under on the same player's statistics in parlays, in addition to other betting markets the league considers problematic, according to the memo, which was obtained by ESPN. The NBA also directed its authorized gambling operators, including DraftKings and FanDuel, not to offer bets on the winner of the opening tip, players to miss specific shots and under bets on players who are expected to play fewer than 12 minutes in a specific game. "There's a balance between ensuring that we are removing problematic bet types but also ensuring that we don't just move activity into the illegal market," NBA executive vice president Scott Kaufman-Ross told ESPN. "And where we landed right now, we think, is the right balance of those two objectives. "The NBA has the authority to restrict what partner sportsbooks offer through its agreements. The NBA estimates its partner sportsbooks account for upward of 99% of the U. S. betting market.

Stars sign veteran F Perron to one-year, $850,000 contract - TSN

The Dallas Stars announced Friday that the team has signed winger David Perron to a one-year, $850,000 contract. Perron, 38, finished last season with the Detroit Red Wings after he was acquired from the Ottawa Senators for a draft pick prior to the trade deadline. He had 13 goals and 28 points in 65 games split between the Senators and Red Wings last season. The six-foot winger is coming off a two-year, $4 million contract that carried a cap hit of $2 million. Drafted 26th overall by the St. Louis Blues in 2007, Perron has 332 goals and 812 points in 1,239 games split between the Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Vegas Golden Knights, Red Wings, and Senators. A 19-year veteran of the NHL, Perron helped the Blues to their first Stanley Cup title in franchise history in 2019, recording seven goals and 16 points.

Red Wings owner Illitch says he made decision to remove Yzerman as GM, doesn’t rule out rebuild - TSN

Steve Yzerman announced in July that he would be stepping down from his position as general manager of the Detroit Red Wings to move into an advisor role. At the time, it was unclear whether Yzerman made the call himself, but team owner Chris Ilitch revealed Thursday he made the “difficult but necessary decision” to demote the franchise legend. Ilitch spoke to Max Bultman of The Athletic on the state of the franchise, including his reaction to chants of “Sell the team” being heard at Little Caesars Arena. “Fans absolutely have the right to tell us how they feel,” Ilitch said prior to a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, moving the team to 2-3-2 on the season. “This is their team. So, I understand fan frustration. I share it, to be frank. My thoughts are that fans want to see our team win on the ice, and I do too. And as the person that’s accountable for this franchise, it’s why I made the change (in general managers), and it’s why I’m so deliberate in our search.”The Red Wings moved Shawn Horcoff into the role of interim general manager in September, but the former NHL forward has seemingly been behind the eight-ball since being promoted.

Does Danny Briere regret the trades the Flyers didn’t make? - Broad Street Hockey

This summer was all about taking the next step forward for the Philadelphia Flyers. What they actually did was a lean forward instead of the leap that they wanted. Does the team, and more specifically general manager Danny Briere, have any major regrets for not being able to pull it off? Years ago, the summer of 2026 was seen as the specific moment that the Flyers could feasibly go out and get a star so that they can have a leader up top with a whole lot of young talent and very good players complementing their skill. How realistic this idea was is still in question, but looking at the likes of Kirill Kaprizov, Kyle Connor, Adrian Kempe, Connor McDavid, and Jack Eichel, just to name a few of the best forwards on the planet right now who were set to become unrestricted free agents this past summer, it makes sense that they would at least aim for that possibility.
