Have you missed the playoffs? We sure have. It’s been a week since the Dream swept the Liberty and the Valkyries took care of the defending-champion Aces with ease. Since then, Atlanta finally decided on a home for the WNBA Finals (thankfully it landed the big spot), Dream guard Allisha Gray had a minor procedure on her left hand and Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase realized that maybe she’s been a little too excited to watch film lately.  With the 2026 WNBA Finals set to tip off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, it’s time for some predictions. So, who will win it all for the first time in franchise history? Will it be the history-making second-year expansion team? Or the side that hasn’t been this deep in the playoffs in over a decade? Golden State Valkyries become first women’s sports team to top $100m in annual revenue - The Guardian

The Golden State Valkyries are pursuing their first WNBA championship, but the second-year franchise have already achieved a historic financial milestone, according to a report from Sportico. The outlet reported on Wednesday that the Valkyries have exceeded $100m in annual revenue, becoming not only the first WNBA team to reach that mark but also the first women’s professional sports team to do so. CNBC valued Golden State at $1bn earlier this year, making them the most valuable women’s sports franchise. The Valkyries sold out all 22 regular-season home games in 2026, their second season. Fans witnessed a 32-12 campaign, good enough for the second-best record in the league. The Valkyries parlayed that success into a first-round series win over the Dallas Wings, and Golden State lead their best-of-five semi-final series against the Las Vegas Aces 2-0. Sportico also reported that a run to the WNBA finals could push the franchise’s gross revenue past $130m.

Valkyries football program offers unique opportunity for local girls - St. Albert Gazette

Local organizers and coaches say the St. Albert Valkyries program fills a critical gap in youth sports by offering a girls-only tackle football environment. The City of St. Albert has been a youth sports hub for years. Minor hockey, baseball, and football leagues have stood as pillars of the city’s community for decades. No matter a child’s age or skill level, somewhere in town is an opportunity for them to participate in organized sports. For the St. Albert Valkyries, that accessibility and inclusivity is a core value of their organization.
