Madrid Daily: Madrid demand Tebas’ resignation as Vinícius’ four-match ban is upheld - Managing Madrid

Real Madrid’s dispute with Javier Tebas escalated on Friday as the club demanded his resignation and the LaLiga president accused its leadership of intimidation. Separately, the RFEF Appeals Committee rejected Madrid’s challenge to Vinícius Júnior’s four-match suspension, leaving the Brazilian set to miss El Clásico unless a further appeal changes the outcome. Both developments come as Madrid prepare to host Sevilla following Wednesday’s comeback victory in Rome. Madrid demand Tebas’ resignation after Goebbels comparisonReal Madrid have demanded Javier Tebas’ immediate resignation as LaLiga president and RFEF vice-president, following his comparison of the club’s communication strategy to propaganda techniques associated with Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s propaganda minister. In his initial post on X, Tebas accused Madrid’s leadership and television channel of presenting selective accounts of refereeing decisions and scheduling disputes. “The Real Madrid management conducts an orchestra of spokespeople, and Real Madrid TV leads the charge.

3 reasons why the Maple Leafs were smart to trade for Aatu Raty - Editor In Leaf

The Toronto Maple Leafs recently made headlines in the trade universe once again, this time acquiring Aatu Raty from the Vancouver Canucks. The deal saw forwards Brandon Buhr and Jacob Quillan head to Canucks for the 52nd overall selection in 2021. Many could admit that Raty is not a huge name on the market right now, nor one that many teams, if any, showed interest in. However, the Oulu, Finland, native brings something more to the team, which is why John Chayka acquired him. Raty provides a solid piece for roster flexibilityThe chances of the 23-year-old playing regularly in the Leafs lineup are slim. However, things happen. Unexpected injuries more often than not; just look at the John Tavares situation from last night. The move to acquire Raty could allow the Leafs to slot in another centerman, or forward in general, should an awkward injury were to take a member of the team. He could very well just stay with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL for now, until needed. After all, Raty spent a chunk of time with the Bridgeport Islanders (now Hamilton Hammers) in the New York Islanders system and the Abbotsford Canucks in Vancouver's system.

UFC Edmonton weigh-in results: Headliners Mike Malott, Joaquin Buckley cap off perfect slate - MMA Fighting

Mike Malott, Joaquin Buckley, and the entire UFC Edmonton crew did their jobs ahead of Saturday’s event. At Friday’s official morning weigh-ins, Malott and Buckley successfully weighed in for their headlining welterweight bout, with both men coming in at 170.5 pounds. Canada’s Malott seeks his fourth straight win after a dominant knockout victory over one-time title challenger Gilbert Burns in his most recent outing, while Buckley needs a strong performance to stop a two-fight skid. In the co-main event, top 10 flyweights Erin Blanchfield and Jasmine Jasudavicius face off with a potential title shot on the line. Blanchfield weighed in at 125 pounds, while Jasudavicius was a shade under championship weight at 124.5 pounds. Outside of a couple of scares from Kyle Daukaus and Melissa Croden—who both stripped down and weighed in behind a box—early in the second hour of the weigh-in window, all 26 fighters competing Saturday successfully made weight. Watch ceremonial weigh-ins above, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Check out UFC Edmonton weigh-in results below. Canucks Game Day: Looking to close out lengthy road trip with a win vs. Lightning - Canucks Army

Canucks Game Day: Looking to close out lengthy road trip with a win vs. LightningThe Vancouver Canucks (2-6-1) wrap up their six-game road trip this afternoon when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning (5-2) at Benchmark International Arena. Puck drop is set for 1 pm PT. What we knowWith no morning skate, it will be closer to game time before the Canucks’ lineup for this afternoon is known. Manny Malhotra liked much of what he saw from his group in the loss in Sunrise and could stick with the same 18 skaters he used on Thursday. However, Luke Schenn won a pair of Stanley Cups in Tampa Bay, and it’s possible this will be his final game there. The veteran blueliner could draw back in after sitting out against the Panthers. Schenn, Guillaume Brisebois and Arshdeep Bains were the healthy scratches two nights ago. Malhotra definitely has a decision to make in goal. He could ride the hot hand of Leevi Meriläinen, who has been terrific for the hockey club since being plucked off waivers on the eve of the season. Meriläinen has stopped 71 of 77 shots in back-to-back starts against the New York Islanders and Florida.

Red Wings' GM Sets Asking Price For Dylan Larkin Trade - NHL Trade Rumors

Detroit Red Wings interim general manager Shawn Horcoff has the tall task of trying to trade Dylan Larkin, and according to TSN's Darren Dreger, it sounds like Horcoff has set his asking price. Larkin demanded a trade over the summer, had his 'C' ripped off his jersey, and now is in the awkward stage of playing through the trade talks. Dreger feels Horcoff will be looking for three or four pieces for his skilled center. Darren Dreger: Re Dylan Larkin trade request/Red Wings: Three or four pieces is what Shawn Horcoff is looking for; you’re talking about two A-quality prospects...a top-nine forward who can play...right now, and... a 1st - Early Trading (10/15)The issue for this trade is the team's Larkin has approved on his no-trade clause. There's been speculation of up to 12 teams on Larkin's wish list, however, most, if not all of the teams, are playoff-bound contenders, who don't have the cap space to make Larkin's $8 million cap hit fit. The Minnesota Wild have been reportedly making a strong run recently by upping their offers, as Wild GM Bill Guerin continues to search for a top-line center.
