What the Canucks are getting in new trade acquisitions Jacob Quillan and Brandon Buhr - Canucks Army

What the Canucks are getting in new trade acquisitions Jacob Quillan and Brandon BuhrQuillan, 24, will report to the AHL Abbotsford Canucks, while the 24-year-old North Vancouver product Buhr will start out with the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL. Quillan first caught our attention in 2024, when he became an undrafted college free agent after putting up 46 points in 39 games with Quinnipiac University. Here is what our own Dave Hall wrote about him at the time:“Despite being recognized more for his work ethic, the 21-year-old has also proven himself in the offensive zone. He excels as a relentless presence at the netfront, creating chaos and showcasing strong hand-eye and quick hands in tight… He has middle-six NHL upside written all over his game.”That was then, and this is now. In the time since turning pro and signing with Toronto, Quillan has appeared in 24 total NHL games — 23 of which came last season. He’s got one goal and two assists to his name at the NHL level, but has proven to be a solid AHL contributor.

Madrid Daily: Madrid demand Tebas’ resignation as Vinícius’ four-match ban is upheld - Managing Madrid

Real Madrid’s dispute with Javier Tebas escalated on Friday as the club demanded his resignation and the LaLiga president accused its leadership of intimidation. Separately, the RFEF Appeals Committee rejected Madrid’s challenge to Vinícius Júnior’s four-match suspension, leaving the Brazilian set to miss El Clásico unless a further appeal changes the outcome. Both developments come as Madrid prepare to host Sevilla following Wednesday’s comeback victory in Rome. Madrid demand Tebas’ resignation after Goebbels comparisonReal Madrid have demanded Javier Tebas’ immediate resignation as LaLiga president and RFEF vice-president, following his comparison of the club’s communication strategy to propaganda techniques associated with Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s propaganda minister. 3 reasons why the Maple Leafs were smart to trade for Aatu Raty - Editor In Leaf

The Toronto Maple Leafs recently made headlines in the trade universe once again, this time acquiring Aatu Raty from the Vancouver Canucks. The deal saw forwards Brandon Buhr and Jacob Quillan head to Canucks for the 52nd overall selection in 2021. Many could admit that Raty is not a huge name on the market right now, nor one that many teams, if any, showed interest in. However, the Oulu, Finland, native brings something more to the team, which is why John Chayka acquired him. Raty provides a solid piece for roster flexibilityThe chances of the 23-year-old playing regularly in the Leafs lineup are slim. However, things happen. Unexpected injuries more often than not; just look at the John Tavares situation from last night. The move to acquire Raty could allow the Leafs to slot in another centerman, or forward in general, should an awkward injury were to take a member of the team. He could very well just stay with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL for now, until needed. After all, Raty spent a chunk of time with the Bridgeport Islanders (now Hamilton Hammers) in the New York Islanders system and the Abbotsford Canucks in Vancouver's system.
