Quentin Tarantino Teaming with Sacha Baron Cohen on West End Play ‘The Popinjay Cavalier’ - Yahoo

Brent LangMon, October 12, 2026 at 2:14 AM UTCQuentin Tarantino Teaming with Sacha Baron Cohen on West End Play ‘The Popinjay Cavalier’Shakespeare. Ibsen. O'Neill. Tarantino? Throughout its storied history, the West End has played host to the greatest playwrights. Now, Quentin Tarantino, the director of classics like "Pulp Fiction" and "Inglourious Basterds," is bringing his snappy dialogue, pop culture obsessions, and talent for mayhem to the London stage. He will write and direct "The Popinjay Cavalier," "a rambunctious comedy of deception and disguise inspired by the grand swashbuckling epics of stage and screen. " Or so the show notes go. Sacha Baron Cohen of "Borat" and "Bruno" fame has been tapped to star in the production, which will hold previews beginning February 23, before officially opening on March 18. "I'm keen with anticipation to give the West End a great night out," Tarantino said in a statement. Baron Cohen was more enthusiastic and profane. "Quentin called, I said yes before he even got to say his first 'motherf — er.' When the best director in the world calls, you don't ask questions.

Entertainment Notebook: Momentum builds for Music with a Mission and Stella Music Festival - TheSuburban.com

The fight against homelessness starts with prevention. That idea is at the heart of Music with a Mission, an inaugural live music fundraising event presented by Chords4Change on Wednesday, November 25 ( 7 pm) at Théâtre Plaza (6505 Rue Saint-Hubert), with proceeds benefiting the Old Brewery Mission’s homelessness-prevention efforts. The evening will bring Montrealers together for a high-energy night of live music featuring local acts The One Love Project and The 80’s, performing iconic hits and dance anthems. Montreal Executive Committee members, Councillors Leslie Roberts and Jim Beis will co-host the event. “We created Music with a Mission around a simple idea: bring people together through music and use that energy to make a difference,” said Jonathan Maldoff, Founder of Chords4Change. “It’s going to be a great night, but it’s also about something much bigger. By supporting the Old Brewery Mission, we can help people who are at risk of homelessness get the support they need before they reach a crisis.

John Cena Says ‘I Understand’ Why ‘Peacemaker’ Isn’t James Gunn’s Main Focus Compared to Other ‘Valuable’ DC Studios IP - Yahoo

John Cena, who starred as the patriotic mercenary Christopher Smith in James Gunn's "Peacemaker," recently said that he understands why the show is no longer a top priority for Gunn, who served as the TV series' writer, creator and showrunner. In an interview with "Happy, Sad, Confused" podcast host Josh Horowitz, the actor first answered the question of if audiences had seen the last of the fan-favorite anti-hero. "You need a different guy in this chair," said Cena, ostensibly referring to Gunn. When asked if he'd been in costume since Season 2 wrapped, Cena replied, "No," adding, "When I put that helmet on, I told James, I'm like, 'Dude, I'll put this helmet on as long as you need me to.' He makes me a better performer, so I love being around him. "More from VarietyCena continued, noting that when Gunn wrote what would become "Peacemaker," he had just done "Guardians of the Galaxy," and then "got invited to DC. He had one crew to mess around with: the Suicide Squad.
