ometimes an epiphany arrives in the most unexpected package. For Rosalind Eleazar, it was a pair of shades and some pumps.
The British actor had a few weeks before she was set to start filming Misty Green, Chris Rock’s drama about show business and the sensitive, often self-destructive artists it chews up and spits out. So she flew to Los Angeles early and embedded herself there, popping into local haunts and walking the streets of Hollywood. Eleazar plays the title character, an actor who, once upon a time, had been on a hit TV show and won Emmys. When we meet her, however, Misty is deep in a professional lull and a personal downward spiral. Eleazar had spent limited time in L. A. before, doing promotional duties for projects. Now she wanted to take some time to really soak in the culture.
Actress Selma Blair faces charges for kicking nurse and officer after plane incident3 days agoRebecka PiederUS actress Selma Blair has been charged with two additional assault counts over allegedly kicking an officer and a nurse after being removed from a flight. Blair was arrested late Sunday in New York after she allegedly attacked flight attendants on a Delta plane travelling from Los Angeles to New York. The FBI issued her a federal summons accusing her of assault on board. While appearing in court over the additional charges, the Legally Blonde star's attorney asked the judge to consider the actress's "body of work", and called Blair the "gold standard. " The judge said she should not "get special treatment". Blair has pleaded not guilty. She has since been released on bail. She was taken to hospital after the incident on the flight. Her representatives have told the BBC that she had "experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct". As the flight landed in New York on Sunday evening, airport officials responded to a call about "a physically abusive passenger" on the flight.

Movie reviewOK, let’s just start with what I do not know. Because I am not Elizabeth Holmes, I do not know what is going on inside the head of the former biotech superstar convicted in 2022 on four counts of fraud and conspiracy after the much-vaunted blood-testing technology of her company, Theranos, turned out to be mostly smoke and mirrors. I do not know why Holmes and her partner, Billy Evans, invited two filmmakers, Nathan Fielder (better known as a cringe comedian, in shows like “Nathan for You” and “The Rehearsal”) and Lance Oppenheim (“Primetime”), into their home to film Holmes’ final days of freedom before beginning an 11-year federal prison sentence in 2023. But I do know this: “You Can See Everything,” the resultant documentary, is utterly fascinating — a three-hour labyrinth that leaves you wondering what is truth, what is performance and what lies somewhere in between. “You Can See Everything” has two distinct halves, of which I’m only going to describe the first one (you deserve to have the same ride that I had).

This month, tucked away in the heart of Waterloo’s St. Jacob’s Market District, is a bewitching theatrical experience that is bound to spring up in conversation as rapidly and dramatically as a magical beanstalk might spring up in a backyard. INTO THE WOODS is currently playing at Drayton Entertainment’s St. Jacob’s Country Playhouse in Waterloo. Boasting a cast of Canada’s top musical theatre talent, it is an embarrassment of riches that is not to be missed.
With Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and Book by James Lapine, INTO THE WOODS is oft considered to be one of Sondheim’s most accessible musicals. It brings to life familiar fairy tales and then deconstructs them to explore complex yet relatable human experiences such as grief, loss, and betrayal. The stories of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel are cleverly woven together via two original characters – the Baker and the Baker’s wife - who desperately want a child and discover they have been unsuccessful due to a Witch’s curse.

Dunham will be joined on the mini-revival by original cast members Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Andrew Rannalls. Adam Driver, who also got his break on the series, was not mentioned in the revival announcement, the Hollywood Reporter noted. No premiere date for the revival has been announced, but Dunham and the other returning cast members dished on the reunion on Instagram.
