(Apatow Productions/Kobal/Shutterstock)Girls fans, unite. The popular TV series is coming back. HBO announced Tuesday that the show, created by and starring Lena Dunham, will be returning for five episodes, with Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet reprising their roles as aspiring writer Hannah Horvath and her friends. Andrew Rannells, who played Elijah, will also be included in the limited revival, and Judd Apatow will return as executive producer. The comedy-drama, which aired from 2012 to 2017, gave a raw, unfiltered (and largely unglamorous) look at life as a 20-something in New York City. Body confidence, bad boyfriends and poor choices were key themes. The show received 29 Emmy Award nominations and won two, and was recently ranked the 13th-best TV show of the 21st century by the New York Times. HBO announced the show's return in a staged mock video call, with Dunham asking her costars if they wanted to take part.

Is It or Isn’t It? How Generative AI is Poisoning the Literary Well For Everyone - Literary Hub

Vauhini Vara, who has for years been investigating the impact of AI on writing, published a piece in The Atlantic over the weekend that suggested it was probable that “The Blue Fighter,” a Caine Prize-winning short story, was written using AI. The claim is based on a close reading of the story and the AI detector Pangram, after the story by Zimbabwean writer Simbarashe Steyn Kundizeza was awarded the 2026 Caine Prize. This is the third time this year that a major literary prize has been tainted by AI accusations: the Commonwealth Prize and the Prix Goncourt have also contended with issues around inhuman tools being used to generate text.

'Jesus READ THE ROOM Joni!': Canadian-born rock legend Joni Mitchell’s U.S. citizenship sparks backlash - Yahoo News Canada

Rock icon Joni Mitchell has called Canada home, built a legendary career in the United States and made no secret of her feelings about U. S. President Donald Trump. Now, after 62 years south of the border, the Alberta-born singer-songwriter is officially an American citizen, and her decision is raising eyebrows, given her outspoken criticism of the Trump administration. The 82-year-old singer-songwriter shared footage of her U. S. citizenship ceremony on social media, along with a photo of herself standing beside an American flag. "A journey that began 62 years ago," Mitchell wrote in a caption. Mitchell has never been one to bite her tongue when it comes to Trump. At a 2024 concert at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl, the Alberta-born singer got a standing ovation after taking a not-so-subtle swipe at the then-presidential candidate, according to a release shared on Mitchell's website. After slipping Trump's name into an ad-libbed rendition of her song 'Dog Eat Dog,' which takes aim at people who "lie, cheat, skim, scam," Mitchell got a little help from the crowd when someone shouted an insult about Trump. Her response was blunt. "F*** Donald Trump!
