A Comically On-The-Nose New Title Has Me Even More Excited For This Upcoming Tactics Game

I was already looking forward to upcoming tactics game Australia Did It , but now I've got another reason to do so: a hilariously expanded new name. In a fun turn of events, designer Rami Ismail has revealed a new subtitle has officially been adopted. Back in August, he posted a suggestion about the name that had been made as part of a localization report that turned out to be incredible. "One localisation report for Australia Did It returned with a note that the game's title won't work in their territory & suggested to instead use 'Australia Did It: End-of-the-World Railway Defence Business' and now I want that, like, globally," he wrote at the time. He subsequently asked fans to express their support for the name, in the hopes he could use it to convince publisher Mystic Forge to actually adopt the subtitle. And with this week's announcement of a release date, the news was confirmed, and the game will officially be called Australia Did It: End-of-the-World Railway Defense Business. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBFlZ8MmbFA The original, subtitle-less name was certainly memorable. Despite a sea of games coming out at all times that seek to push everything more than five seconds

Zoom adds ‘proof of human’ badges to show you’re not a deepfake

Zoom enterprise customers will now be able to see “proof of human” badges to verify that people appearing on video calls are real, after a global rollout of biometric identity technology from World. On Sunday, the Sam Altman-backed project announced that World ID for Zoom is now available in the Zoom Marketplace. The system compares an image captured by the company’s iris-scanning Orb, a live selfie and the participant’s video feed before displaying a Human Badge visible to other meeting participants. World first announced its Zoom integration in April, when it was undergoing limited beta testing with VanEck Funds. The feature is now available globally to Zoom enterprise customers. World also named Bain Capital, Pantera Capital and other financial firms as initial design partners for its broader identity verification technology. The rollout follows incidents involving AI-generated impersonation. In 2024, an employee at engineering firm Arup transferred about $25 million after scammers impersonated executives during a video conference.

Tom Cruise's 10/10 War Action Epic Is About to Say Goodbye to HBO Max

Watch this classic war movie before it leaves HBO Max at the end of October Tom Cruise has built a career out of playing larger-than-life characters, but some of his best performances are when he delves into the more vulnerable people beneath the movie-star bravado. Days of Thunder filters the story of a hotshot NASCAR driver through the humbling process of learning to trust someone, while Jerry Maguire finds a sports agent in the throes of learning that success means little without genuine human connection. Even Tropic Thunder, for all its outrageous comedy, gives Cruise room to disappear into a grotesque Hollywood executive whose insecurities are as ridiculous as his explosive temper. And Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Digger gives Cruise one of his most fascinating character studies yet as an oil tycoon with a brazen plan to save the world.
