As the B. C. provincial election campaign enters the final week, a new poll shows that the BC Conservatives are leading by five points among decided voters.
“The biggest takeaway is that the Conservatives are ahead, and when we look at the overall pattern, it looks like it will be difficult for the NDP to narrow the gap in the time that’s left,” Greg Lyle with Innovative Research Group said. The poll shows that the BC Conservatives have at least marginal leads in every region in the province, with a large lead among Punjabi and Chinese speakers, who are key voters in several Lower Mainland swing seats. “One big thing is that this still remains a time for a change election,” Lyle added. “So often, elections will evolve. They’ll start as sort of a referendum on the government, but then they’ll transition into a choice between alternatives. In this campaign, people have gotten even more angry at the NDP as the campaign progressed.” Story continues below advertisement

Commerce man says federal agents disregarded health conditions during arrest
Tuesday, October 20, 2026 11:23PMFor the first time, a Commerce man accused of illegally registering to vote is detailing his arrest and what he experienced during a 10-hour detention. COMMERCE, Calif. (KABC) -- A 72-year-old Commerce man accused by federal authorities of illegally registering to vote spoke publicly for the first time Tuesday about his arrest and roughly 10-hour detention. Omar Muñoz, one of more than two dozen people arrested in the federal case, told Eyewitness News he was taken into custody Monday near the bench where he drinks coffee every morning. He recalled asking the agents for identification when they showed up at his door. "They said, 'Open the door or we break it down, and it'll be bad for you,'" Muñoz said. Fulshear city leaders consider $250 million town square development
FULSHEAR, Texas (KTRK) -- Fulshear City Council members will meet Tuesday night to discuss a major development proposal that could transform an open field off FM 1093 and FM 359 into a hub with a hotel, sports facility, and retail. The project is called Fulshear Town Square. It is still in the conceptual stages, but renderings from the Johnson Design Group show plans for the city's first hotel, a sports complex, a fitness center, medical offices, grocery stores, and more. The Johnson Group's plan also includes ideas for what are called Fulshear Luxury Lofts, which could bring more residential space to the area. Mayor Don McCoy said the project could cost around $250 million, but it is still not clear how it will be paid for. Fulshear is in Fort Bend County and, according to U. S. Census Bureau population estimates, is the second-fastest-growing city in the country. RELATED: Fulshear and other suburbs in big Texas metro areas lead as fastest growing municipalities in the US"Fulshear, as many know...we're one of the fastest-growing cities in America," McCoy said. That growth is part of why McCoy added the proposal to Tuesday's city council meeting.
