Published: October 19, 2026 at 11:39a.m. EDTThe Winnipeg Jets recalled prospect Brayden Yager from the AHL’s Manitoba Moose on Monday. Yager, 21, is off to a blistering start in the AHL, posting five goals and nine points in six games with the Moose, including five points in his past two. He went without a point in three games with the Jets last season, posting 10 goals and 30 points in 68 AHL games. In a corresponding move, the Jets placed Josh Morrissey on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 7. The team said last week the defenceman is week-to-week with an upper-body injury. The 5-foot-11 centre was drafted 14th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2023 and then dealt to the Jets in August of 2024 in exchange for prospect Rutger McGroarty. Yager played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Lethbridge Hurricanes and helped Moose Jaw to a WHL championship in 2023-24. Yager represented Canada twice at the World Juniors in 2024 and 2025, finishing fifth both times.

Oilers activate Colton Dach off IR, loan Josh Samanski to AHL - Oilers Nation

With Colton Dach’s return to the lineup tonight, he has officially been activated off injured reserve. Josh Samanski was stilled listed as an emergency recall from the Bakersfield Condors, and the Oilers are loaning him back to their AHL club for the time being. No other moves were required to get Zach Hyman and Jake Walman back into the lineup. That means three players who were unavailable in Thursday’s first matchup against Utah will draw in tonight for the rematch. The @EdmontonOilers morning skate: LeviThe Oilers could’ve considered putting Jason Dickinson retroactively on IR, but not much is known about his status going forward. There is also belief that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins can make his season debut late next week. Samanski hasn’t seemed to pick up where he left off last season. He initially did not crack the opening night roster, but immediate injuries to the Oilers forward group prompted a recall after just one game. Samanski has suited up six games and chipped in one assist, but has not been getting much ice time. He is averaging 7:44 per game, a few minutes below his totals from a season ago at 10:34.

AHL’s Wolfpack sign G Reimer to PTO - TSN

The Hartford Wolf Pack, the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, have signed unrestricted free agent goaltender James Reimer to a professional tryout agreement on Thursday. The Rangers are dealing with the injuries at the goaltending position. Franchise goaltender Igor Shesterkin is out for the season after suffering a knee injury on Oct. 9. Dylan Garand, 24, is currently the starter while Joonas Korpisalo remains on the injured reserve with a lower-body. Reimer, 38, joined the Ottawa Senators midway through the 2025-26 season and went 7-4-1 with a 2.42 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage. He did not appear in the team’s four-game loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round of the playoffs. The 6-foot-2 netminder is coming off a one-year, $850,000 contract. Drafted 99th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2006, Reimer has a career 232-191-67 record with a .909 save percentage and 2.88 GAA split between the Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, and Senators.

Canucks’ Räty clears NHL waivers, will report to AHL Abbotsford - Canucks Army

After being placed on NHL waivers on Wednesday, Vancouver Canucks forward Aatu Räty has cleared waivers and will report to AHL Abbotsford. Raty clearedRäty, 23, has appeared in just four of the Canucks’ eight games this season. He scored into the empty net to ice the game in his season debut against the Calgary Flames, but has since been held off the scoresheet. The Finnish centre has served as the fourth-line centre in all his games this season, and his ice time reflects that, with sub-10 minutes in three of those contests. He has the lone point, four shots on goal, two penalty minutes, and a minus-two rating, while averaging 10:10 this season. Known as a faceoff ace, Räty won 56.8% of his draws this season. The 6’2″ centreman found himself further down the depth chart now with the return of Filip Chytil tonight against the Florida Panthers. Similarly, we saw the same at Canucks training camp. Once viewed as the Canucks’ sure-fire fourth-line centre to begin the year, Räty found himself centring a line with Ty Mueller and Trey Fix-Wolansky, two forwards destined to start the season in the AHL Abbotsford.
