I spent 10 hours flying Virgin Atlantic's upper class. My seat had its drawbacks, but the flight mostly won me over. - Business Insider

Before my Virgin Atlantic flight, I hung out in the Delta One Lounge at LAX. As soon as I learned what business-class life was like, I never wanted to go back. Now, my husband and I use credit-card points to get the experience whenever we can, especially on long-haul overnight flights. That's mainly because the lie-flat seat is an absolute game changer, and I was especially looking forward to it when my husband and I booked Virgin Atlantic upper class aboard a 787-9 Dreamliner from Los Angeles to London this summer. It's a leg and an airline I'd flown before, so I knew all the perks of this airline's version of business class. I also knew one thing I probably wouldn't love as much as the other posh details of the flying experience: the seat. Unlike most business-class seats I've experienced — I'm fortunate to have flown long-haul business class on about 10 different airlines — Virgin Atlantic's doesn't smoothly recline all the way from upright to lie-flat. Instead, it's a seat or a bed. When you're ready to sleep, you get up, and a flight attendant flips the seat over and makes it up with bedding. It's pretty seamless, but I still find the setup a bit cumbersome.

Air Canada cuts five U.S. routes from 2027 schedule - Pax News

Air Canada has reportedly removed five U. S. routes from its 2027 schedule, including its Toronto–Charleston service, as it adjusts its transborder network while adding flights to other American destinations. The affected routes are:Toronto Billy Bishop–BostonToronto Pearson–CharlestonVancouver–NashvilleVancouver–Raleigh-DurhamMontreal–SeattleThe airline confirmed the five route cuts to The Points Guy, citing “commercial reasons.”In the same statement, Air Canada said it “regularly reviews its schedule to ensure capacity is aligned with customer demand and travel patterns.”According to Simple Flying, citing Cirium schedule data, all five routes had previously been available for 2027 but were removed in the latest schedule update. Montreal–Seattle, Vancouver–Nashville and Vancouver–Raleigh-Durham had been scheduled to resume in May 2027, while Toronto Pearson–Charleston was expected to return in April. The Charleston cut removes Air Canada’s only route to the South Carolina city, which it began serving in March 2024. The other four U. S. destinations will remain accessible through Air Canada’s other Canadian gateways, Simple Flying reported.
