Updated: Oct 23, 2026 11:00am UTCThe Call of Duty matchmaking debate has raged on pretty much since the beginning of multiplayer. Should matches be comprised of evenly skilled players, if there’s an accurate enough way of ensuring that? Or should skill be stripped out of the equation, so you never know what to expect from the next match? Both sides of the argument have their valid reasons for their preference, but most recently, in 2025’s Black Ops 7, an option was presented that attempted to satisfy all. While the default matchmaking was set to skill-based, as has been the case since 2007’s game-changing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, open matchmaking playlists were also available to those who want the opportunity to get teamed up with, and against, anybody. This year’s Modern Warfare 4, though, has launched without that option, once again placing the matchmaking debate into the spotlight within the COD community. Is there any way to keep everyone happy, then? IGN spoke with Infinity Ward's Multiplayer creative director, Joe Cecot, who explained that match quality is the priority. “I don't know if there's perfecting it,” Cecot said of matchmaking.

EA Halts Development on Mobile Multiplayer Sims Game in Favor of Rumored Sims 4 Sequel
Updated: Oct 21, 2026 8:25pm UTCEA has paused development on a mobile multiplayer Sims game in favor of moving forward with a rumored Sims 4 sequel. EA announced a wide variety of changes and projects today, including the closure of BioWare and the cancelation of Mass Effect 5. It also seemed to lean into recent rumors that DICE and Respawn are making a new Star Wars Battlefront game. One other big change is that EA is shelving a mobile-first multiplayer Sims project, formerly known as Project Rene and now known as Project Lotus. The game was once envisioned as the next big Sims title, but plans changed to more of a mobile spin-off once EA saw that people were still hanging on to The Sims 4. With that game being put on the back burner, EA is shifting its focus to a Sims title that it's calling Project Evergreen. Although EA hasn't revealed what the focus of this game will be, rumors have been swirling about this project for a some time now. The game, which was rumored to be under the codename Project X, is expected to be a sequel to The Sims 4. Now, here's where it may get a bit confusing: It's not The Sims 5. It's being viewed more like The Sims 4 2.0.

Urine Trouble: PEE V PEE, a multiplayer game about hiding from the cops while you take a whizz on public property, takes the trophy for punniest title of the year
I've been doing this whole games journalism for over five years now, and I've seen a lot of different kinds of games in that time. I've written about plenty of them too, with a fair few being plenty weird. But I'll admit that today's game is one that I do understand if I were to tell anyone I'm interested in playing who maybe isn't familiar with games as a whole, they'd probably talk to someone else at the party. You see, Urine Trouble: PEE V PEE is a competitive online game all about pissing literally everywhere, and trying not to get caught doing so. In Urine Trouble: PEE V PEE, public urination has become punishable by death. "Good! " I hear those of you who hate when people randomly piss on the side of a building, though perhaps the death penalty is an overreaction. As a response to this, a group of rebels known as The Pissers decide to take back their city by pissing on literally everything. Luckily, you, as a Pisser, are able to blend in with the NPCs of the world in order to hide from the cops, as every single character looks almost exactly the same.
