Table Tennis Beast Lucía Has Returned To Torment Players Again In Switch Sports Resort
This is Lucía: © Nintendo If you’re not already shaking in fear, you’re likely missing a little context here. Lucía is a Mii who has appeared in Wii series games since the original Wii Sports, where she was a pretty mediocre athlete. In Wii Sports Resort, however, she really hit her stride and became an absolute beast at table tennis, appearing as the Champion—the final NPC that players need to defeat before mastering the sport. When successor Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was announced back in June, fans of the series initially lamented the game’s lack of Miis, with some even deeming the setting of Wuhu Island as “colonized” by Sportsmates, which were the avatars that largely replaced Miis in Nintendo Switch Sports. But Mii NPCs ended up making a partial return in Switch Sports Resort, and players can even turn up their frequency so they essentially replace Sportsmates. Most importantly, the iconic Mii Champions from Wii Sports Resort have returned. Lucía, however, is especially nightmarish to defeat, and quite a few players have taken to the internet to commiserate about their table tennis losses against her.

Capcom and Square Enix Suffer Online Attacks As Hackers Access Player Data
A number of services run by Capcom and Square Enix have been the subject of unauthorized access attacks by third-party individuals and groups, part of a surge of AI-powered cybersecurity breaches of Japanese companies in recent weeks. On October 19, Square Enix confirmed that a number of Final Fantasy XIV accounts had been accessed by an unnamed third party. According to the developer, access to the accounts was not the result of a direct breach of Square Enix’s own security and databases, but a result of this third party using credentials gathered from the security breaches of other companies to access these accounts. The company has already stepped in to prevent access to accounts it thinks may be compromised, but has warned that it may enforce password resets and security measures on all accounts if such breaches continue to increase. Meanwhile, Capcom disclosed yesterday that a direct breach of databases and services containing user information had occurred, resulting in access to system-identifying account information and email addresses for over 11.7 million users.

Esper locations in Final Fantasy Resonance
Final Fantasy Resonance's Espers give Fina an extra edge in combat, or sometimes they're just convenient decoys to bait the enemy into attacking them and not your party. However you use them, Espers are definitely worth the MP it costs to summon them. You have to put in some extra work to obtain them, though. Espers are tucked away in different spots around Resonance's world, and you have to find and often fight them before Fina can use their powers. Below, we show you where to find Esper locations in Final Fantasy Resonance and explain how to recruit them. [Ed. note: This guide is work in progress, as we're still confirming the conditions for the final Esper. We'll update this guide once we're able to fully confirm this.] Espers look like traditional Final Fantasy summons, but they behave differently. Fina is the only party member in Final Fantasy Resonance who can summon Espers, and there's an MP cost for each summon. They remain on the field until they act three times, but while all your support spells apply to them, you can't control them. The Esper will use a different action from their arsenal each turn and then end their time on the field with their strongest skill.

Battlefield 6, One Year Later
One year ago this month, Battlefield 6 launched on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Over the last 12 months, EA’s latest entry in the long-running FPS series has received numerous free updates, modes, maps, and more. Not all of it has been good. Some of it has been great. And through it all, fans have been very vocal, talking (and sometimes yelling) about it all online as DICE and the other studios working on BF6 continue to expand and improve on 2025’s best-selling game. Even before Battlefield 6 launched, the game’s beta had people claiming the franchise was back after a few less-than-stellar previous releases. At one point, the Battlefield 6 open beta reached over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. A lot of people, myself included, loved how much BF6 played and looked like BF4, one of the best games in the series. Its grounded combat, snappy gunplay, impressive destruction, and focus on performance really won a lot of people over, even some fans who had fallen out of love with Battlefield. However, there was some controversy during the beta, with a big complaint from fans being that the game’s maps were too small.

With Minecraft and Diablo shows already on the way, Netflix reportedly offered Xbox $500m for a bigger film and TV deal
A deal between Netflix and Xbox has supposedly fallen through because of one minor quibble: Netflix wanted to adapt the console maker's games for $500m, not $800m. That's according to Puck News' Matt Belloni, who reports that Netflix offered Xbox $500m to exclusively licence the company's games and turn them into streamable films or TV shows for the next seven years.
