US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $635 million in net outflows on Thursday, pushing October’s flows back into the red. The withdrawals more than erased Wednesday’s $528 million in inflows and brought October’s net outflows to $175 million, according to SoSoValue data. It was the largest single-day net outflow since June 25, when Bitcoin ETFs lost $696 million. The withdrawals snapped a three-day inflow streak that attracted $1.08 billion. Bitcoin ETFs still had weekly net inflows of $443 million. The funds had recorded two consecutive weeks of outflows before the rebound. Bitcoin traded between $80,996 and $82,551 on Thursday, down from Wednesday’s intraday high of $84,777. BTC was trading at approximately $81,783 at the time of publication, down around 1% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. Altcoin ETFs also saw mostly negative flows on Thursday. Ether ETFs recorded around $111 million in net outflows, followed by Solana ETFs with roughly $9 million and Hyperliquid (HYPE) ETFs with about $8 million. XRP ETFs bucked the trend, attracting around $3.6 million in inflows.

The battle that made Canada bleed: Operation Medusa, 20 years later - CBC

As Canadian troops crossed the Arghandab River, the first indication to former corporal Bruce Moncur that something was amiss came with the sight of a green pen flare shooting across the sky. "I remember looking at it thinking, well, that's weird," said Moncur, who realized that since NATO troops in Afghanistan fired red flares, green must have belonged to the Taliban.  "That was an indication that we had walked far enough into the trap. "The Taliban had waited until he and his section of troops had dismounted from the protection of their armoured vehicles before springing their three-sided ambush. Moncur recalls every detail of that day 20 years ago with a stark, blinding clarity. It was the opening phase of Operation Medusa, a savage, close-quarters battle in the vineyards and dusty villages of Kandahar.

SEC flags tokenization as high-risk area in 2027 market examinations

The SEC’s latest priorities highlight tokenization as an emerging market risk, while cryptocurrencies remain absent as a standalone examination category. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has added tokenization to its fiscal 2027 examination priorities, placing tokenized securities alongside quantum computing and extended trading hours among emerging trends it plans to examine. In its 2027 examination priorities, released Friday, the SEC identified tokenization as an area of focus for examinations of critical market infrastructure. Tokenization was not explicitly mentioned in the agency’s 2026 priorities. The report addressed the security and reliability of critical market infrastructure, stating:Examinations under Regulation SCI will focus on emerging trends, including SI [super intelligence, the Trump administration’s term for artificial intelligence], tokenization of securities, extended trading hours, and quantum computing. The SEC also listed tokenization among the high-risk areas it will examine at clearing agencies, alongside default management, securities lending and operational risks.
