Quantum State Tomography Reveals A Qubit’s Broken Linearity - Quantum Zeitgeist

Quantum state tomography revealed a breakdown of the superposition principle within a superconducting qubit, challenging a core tenet of quantum theory, according to research from Washington University and the University of California, Berkeley. Orion Lee, Qian Cao and colleagues theoretically characterized and experimentally investigated this deviation from linearity in a dissipative superconducting transmon circuit, finding that “linearity is a foundational property of quantum dynamics.” Their work demonstrates that no-jump postselection generates an anti-Hermitian nonlinearity, causing a measurable non-linear response in the qubit’s evolution and a violation of linearity quantified across the exceptional-point degeneracy of the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. This postselection, which focuses on trajectories where the qubit does not “jump” to a lower energy state, effectively reshapes the system’s dynamics, leading to a deviation from the standard linear behavior expected in quantum mechanics.

5 PlayStation 5 Pro Accessories That Aren't Worth Buying (According To Owners) - BGR

The PlayStation 5 Pro has several accessories for anyone who wants to complement the experience with their console, especially headsets and charging docks for controllers. In addition to products made by Sony itself, there are other PlayStation accessory brands that offer good alternatives. However, despite the variety, not all of them make sense for players, since they do not add much value. That happens because not every accessory actually solves a problem you may have or augments your experience while gaming. Some promise to improve the console's cooling, while other accessories are intended to add new functions. Depending on the product, you may also run into durability or comfort problems, causing a purchase that seemed useful to be set aside after some time.

Hands-on: Belkin’s new semi solid state batteries make for a much lighter carry - 9to5Mac

Belkin is now offering two new semi solid state batteries for your iPhone. There’s one 10,000mAh offering with a USB-C port for charging. The second is a 5,000mAh MagSafe offering, which offers 15W Qi2 charging. Both come in much lighter than you’d expect, and both offer premium aluminum builds that are cold to the touch. When you pick up this solid state battery bank, you’ll notice it feels so much lighter than you’d traditionally expect compared to other batteries of its capacity. For example, this battery comes in at 220g, compared to older 10K batteries that weigh between 240 and 300g.
