World of Warcraft: Forever Class Deep Dives — Priest and Warrior - Blizzard News

With each class update, the goal is to keep the spirit of original World of Warcraft in mind while giving players more ways to make their character feel their own. For Priests and Warriors, that work takes shape in two very different combat identities: one built around Light, Shadow, healing, and protection, and the other around weapons, Rage, stances, and battlefield momentum. The updates below are focused on broadening useful choices without moving either class away from what makes it recognizable. Priests gain wider access to important tools and new talent options that support healing, utility, and Shadow-focused damage. Warriors see adjustments that make Rage more reliable, bring certain utility forward as baseline functionality, and sharpen the role of each specialization.

Google's AI ranks #1 for predicting flu hospitalizations. - blog.google

A flu forecasting model built with Google AI was the best at forecasting flu-related hospital admissions during the 2025-26 season, the Centers for Disease Control announced this week. From October through May, the CDC’s FluSight combines weekly submissions from government, industry, and academic teams predicting U. S. hospital admissions for the current week and three weeks into the future. The CDC uses the combined forecast each week to communicate the anticipated state-level demand for medical services. The end-of-season analysis published this week shows that of 39 eligible models, Google’s best matched the season’s observed hospital admissions. This performance validates our confidence that AI combined with human ingenuity will improve our ability to forecast diseases worldwide. Google forecasts were developed using Empirical Research Assistance, an AI tool that generates optimization algorithms across a range of scientific fields. Research on ERA was recently published in the journal “Nature.” ERA’s underlying technology is now available to trusted testers as part of our experimental science tools.

Honouring Truth Means Acting on Reconciliation - Canadian Labour Congress

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a reminder of our ongoing and collective responsibility to recognize and confront the legacy of the residential school system and other unjust colonial systems and policies impacting the lives of Indigenous peoples in Canada today. This year marks 11 years since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission released its final report and 94 Calls to Action. While some progress has been made, as of August 1, 2026, roughly 41 percent have not been started, and 15 percent have stalled. One of those stalled is the full implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) as the framework for reconciliation.

Inadequate public funding may be the biggest threat facing world heritage, study finds - The Art Newspaper

World Monuments Fund (WMF) released key insights from a study on Wednesday (30 September) revealing that insufficient public funding continues to surpass climate hazards as the primary threat to heritage sites around the world. The research was conducted as part of the non-profit organisation’s nomination process for its 2027 World Monuments Watch list, which will be announced in February. WMF has been publishing the list since 1996 to address funding gaps in cultural preservation. This year, the number of nominations has almost doubled since the previous cycle. Of 372 nominations for the 2027 Watch list, 65% of nominators cited funding shortages and economic development as a primary challenge, up from 55% in 2024. Bénédicte de Montlaur, the director of WMF, says funding is no longer flowing from public coffers, as governments worldwide face pressures from inflation, war, climate-related disasters and competing public needs. “We are seeing governments, particularly in Europe and the US (which have been some of the most supportive of heritage preservation), reducing or stopping national and international funding for public resources,” De Montlaur tells The Art Newspaper.
