Domestic firms make efforts to dominate energy technology sector - Vietnam Investment Review - VIR

What do you consider the key difference between a rapidly growing economy and a developed economy? The difference doesn't simply lie in the GDP growth rate, but in the factors that generate that growth. An economy can grow quickly thanks to capital, labour, natural resources, or foreign investment capital. However, to become a developed economy, we must shift from participating in the value chain to mastering (leading) a major part of the value chain. This means that Vietnamese businesses should not only produce products based on available designs, but must gradually master technology, products, standards, brands, markets, and the ability to create added value. I believe that it is the challenge for Vietnam at this stage. Looking at the battery energy storage system (BESS) industry, it is easy to see that Vietnam can import batteries, inverters, PCS, and BMS and assemble them into a completed system. However, assembling a BESS system does not automatically mean the existence of a domestic BESS industry.

Scientists discover why damaged nerves struggle to heal - Science Daily

Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have identified a molecular mechanism that appears to restrict the ability of injured neurons to regrow damaged axons. The findings, published in the journal Nature, suggest that blocking a protein known as the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) could promote nerve regeneration and improve recovery after damage to peripheral nerves or the spinal cord. Axons are long extensions of nerve cells, or neurons, that transmit signals throughout both the central and peripheral nervous systems. These fibers are essential for communication between nerve cells. When axons are damaged or severed, recovery depends heavily on whether neurons can rebuild those connections.

Despite Trump's renaming of Lake Ontario, Great Lakes endure as symbol of U.S.-Canada collaboration - CBC

ScienceIt's unclear whether Trump can unilaterally rename the lake, whose name predates European colonization of the Americas and has been widely recognized internationally for centuries. But the renaming belies a concerted push by the Trump administration to hold back important U. S.-Canada collaboration on scientific research and restoration work in the Great Lakes. Renaming Lake Ontario may sound like a joke, but environmental threats to the Great Lakes are very realInayat Singh · CBC News · Posted: Aug 28, 2026 4:00 AM EDT | Last Updated: August 28Listen to this articleEstimated 5 minutesThe audio version of this article is generated by AI-based technology. The 76 Biggest Film Flops on Streaming in the First Half of 2026 - The Entertainment Strategy Guy | Substack

(Welcome to the Entertainment Strategy Guy, a newsletter on the entertainment industry and business strategy. I write a weekly Streaming Ratings Report and a bi-weekly strategy column, along with occasional deep dives into other topics, like today’s article. Please subscribe.)We’re a little bit over the halfway mark of the year, so it’s time to check in on all the streaming flops, bombs and misses from the first half of the year. Today, we’re looking at film flops! But first, two big changes to this article. For the first time in a while, I’m not arranging the streaming flops, bombs and misses by streamer...there just weren’t enough films! Some streamers had zero scripted straight-to-streaming misses (Paramount+), or just one (Peacock, HBO Max), or just a handful (Apple TV), so I didn’t feel like covering each streamer separately. (This is not the case with TV shows...every streamer has at least one, if not thirteen, scripted streaming misses.)Writing the article this way allows me to cover more trends and highlight more themes in the first half of the year. The biggest update/change, though, is that I’m adding in theatrical films to the main lists.

CSPMA updates science-based factsheets with new research and guidance - Hortidaily

The Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss Association (CSPMA) has updated its Science-Based Factsheets, last revised in 2023, to incorporate recent research, industry data, certification requirements and policy context. The revised documents include information from 2021–2025 and a new glossary of key terms. "The factsheets continue to serve as accessible, evidence-based resources for industry and stakeholders," says Asha Hingorani, President of the CSPMA. "The updates also provide greater clarity on the role Canadian peat plays within the broader horticultural production system as demand for growing media is expected to increase significantly in the coming decades. " Among the structural changes, the former Part 4, Alternative Materials and the Wise Use of Peat, has been reframed as The Wise Use of Canadian Peat & Other Growing Media Components. The approach moves away from comparing peat with alternative materials in isolation and instead considers how different components function together in growing media. © CSPMA A systems approach to growing mediaAsha says the change reflects the practical requirements of growing-media formulation.
