Manchester United transfer latest: Gary Neville claims Red Devils must buy centre-back and left-back before transfer window closes | Football News - Sky Sports
Gary Neville encouraged Manchester United to address their defensive weaknesses by signing a centre-back and full-back before the transfer window closes on Tuesday. United have spent £155m this summer on midfielders Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, having added attackers Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko in the summer of 2025. However, Neville says defensive frailties could undermine progress in those areas for head coach Michael Carrick.

Hurricanes: Facts, FAQs , and how to help - World Vision
Hurricanes begin as small disturbances over warm ocean waters, but within days, they can intensify into deadly, high-speed storms capable of widespread destruction. Early-season storms like Tropical Storm Bertha remind communities to prepare before more powerful hurricanes develop. Hurricanes like Helene, Milton, and Katrina, one of the deadliest and costliest natural disasters in U. S. history, show how quickly a storm can strengthen, unleashing catastrophic winds, flooding, and devastation in its path. The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. While forecasters at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) expect a below-normal season overall because of the anticipated development of El Niño conditions, experts emphasize that it only takes one storm making landfall to cause catastrophic damage and loss of life. Families in hurricane-prone areas should prepare early and stay informed throughout the season.

Lifestyle Medicine and the Science of Cholesterol Reduction: A Systematic Review of Non-medication Approaches Among Adults - The Cureus Journal of Medical Science
Dyslipidemia is a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease and remains highly prevalent despite advances in lipid-lowering therapy. Lifestyle medicine has emerged as a comprehensive, non-pharmacological strategy for improving lipid profiles and reducing cardiovascular risk. This systematic review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines and evaluated the effectiveness of lifestyle-based interventions for cholesterol reduction in adults. PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were searched for observational studies published between 2015 and May 2026. Studies involving adults (≥18 years) that evaluated lifestyle interventions and reported lipid-related outcomes were included. Study quality was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Twenty-six studies met the inclusion criteria. Mediterranean and plant-based diets, together with regular physical activity, were consistently associated with reductions in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides, improvements in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and lower cardiovascular risk. The museum charting how humans understand the world - BBC
30 August 2026Maggie DownsGetty Images(Credit: Getty Images)Beautiful, surreal and eerily empty, Vienna's Globe Museum the only public museum on Earth dedicated to globes, and it – quite literally – tells the story of our world. It's a chilly afternoon in Vienna, and the line for the Austrian National Library has already spilled out the door, curling like a ribbon around the grand Josefsplatz square. I'm not in the mood to wait – I've already struck out at several crowded nearby attractions where timed-entry tickets were sold out. Rather than join the queue, I walk down the street and stumble onto a smaller, somewhat hidden site: The Globe Museum. Tucked inside Vienna's 17th-Century Palais Mollard, it's the only public museum on Earth dedicated entirely to globes, and one of Vienna's greatest surprises. Different worlds I soon realise that I've wandered into another world – or more accurately, many of them. Just steps from some of the city's most celebrated, crowded attractions, Vienna's Globe Museum displays more than 220 rare and antique spheres, most created before 1850, ranging from towering Coronelli globes to tiny, foldable pocket orbs.

Lake America replaces Lake Ontario on multiple Canadian websites after Google Maps update - CBC
Some Canadian websites, including for the federal government, displayed maps with Lake Ontario renamed as Lake America on Sunday, a day after Google Maps announced the change to align with an executive order by U. S. President Donald Trump. The search giant said in a Saturday post on its corporate website that it made the change because the U. S. government's geographic names database has formally renamed the lake. Google said the change would only affect U. S. users, but a number of websites for Ontario and Canadian entities appeared to display Lake America on maps. Among them were Hydro One's outage map, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) store locator, GO Transit's station finder and the federal government's housing and infrastructure map. "We are aware that Lake Ontario is being incorrectly labeled on our outage map," a spokesperson told CBC News in an email, adding that Hydro One regrets the "error. "A screenshot of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario's website on Sunday afternoon shows Lake Ontario labelled as Lake America. The map has since reverted to the Lake Ontario name. (CBC)"The issue originates from a third-party mapping service," the utility said.
