Description
Students and workers rallied across France on Saturday against high living costs, inequality and a lack of resources in schools. The movement began in September at high schools in Paris' northern suburbs over teacher shortages and deteriorating facilities. “If we don’t hold demonstrations, we cannot be heard,” said student Amouri, as protesters gathered at Paris’ Place de la Republique. President Emmanuel Macron called for “calm and respect” ahead of the protests, urging demonstrators to refrain from insults and destruction.
