Description
The Chinese state owned company, XCMG, is one of the world's biggest heavy equipment manufacturers. But the quality of it's products changed drastically several years ago, according to one Canadian dealer. Ryan Martin, president of Arctic Machinery — a company that started working with XCMG in 2017 — has accused XCMG of "changing serial number plates, and changing the years of the machines," to mislead customers purchasing equipment. "The quality of the equipment at that time was not what the quality was in the past... It's destroyed our family business," said Martin. Now XCMG is facing civil lawsuits, having been accused of defrauding equipment dealers in Canada. Paul Johnson reports.
