Description

Is the Tesla Model 3 Performance worth the hype? We lived with Tesla's dual-motor rocket for two years to see if its blistering 0-60 acceleration, range and tech justify buying one. Run a VIN check or license plate search to uncover maintenance history, open recalls, and title statuses before you buy at http://bumper.com/edmunds Tesla Model 3 Edmunds Review – https://www.edmunds.com/tesla/model-3/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=content&utm_account=edmunds_content More Edmunds Ownership Review Videos – https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsSQoIGhBLpT2eTLmGYwTYGAIKBOJjHnX Appraisal Tool – https://www.edmunds.com/appraisal/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=content&utm_account=edmunds_content Car Listings – https://www.edmunds.com/new-cars-for-sale/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=content&utm_account=edmunds_content Ratings and Reviews – https://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=content&utm_account=edmunds_content 00:00 Intro 00:49 What We Got 01:45 What We Liked 10:18 What We Didn't Like 16:06 Value 17:00 Edmunds' Take After two years and thousands of hard-charging miles in our One-Year Road Test fleet, we have all the real-world data on what it’s actually like to live with the Tesla Model 3 Performance. Purchased for $58,390, our dual-motor sport sedan was subjected to daily commuting, road trips, and drag-strip shootouts to see if this fast EV delivers everyday livability alongside supercar speed. On paper and on the track, the performance-per-dollar factor is simply unbeatable. With over 500 horsepower and all-wheel drive, the Model 3 Performance launched from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 3.0 seconds and tore down the quarter mile in 11 seconds flat during Edmunds' instrumented testing. It dominated our U-Drags leaderboard against much pricier machines like the BMW M3 CS and Dodge Charger Daytona EV. Better yet, frequency-sensitive adaptive dampers deliver impressive ride comfort on the highway, while the Performance returned an efficient 306 miles of range in our real-world Edmunds EV Range Test. Living with it day to day, however, reveals a few compromises. Tesla's stark interior eliminates physical controls and an instrument cluster, pushing essential adjustments into the central touchscreen. The controversial turn-signal buttons on the steering wheel remain an ergonomic headache, the glass roof radiates heat on sunny days, and a front-wheel vibration resulted in a $2,200 brake and wheel repair at 12,000 miles. When it came time to sell, our tester appraised at $39,600, holding onto its value better than most electric rivals. Ultimately, earning an Edmunds Rating of 8.1 out of 10, the Tesla Model 3 Performance proves that you don't have to spend six figures for world-class acceleration, making it an extraordinary performance bargain.
