Sea-surface temperatures reflect strengthening El Niño - World Meteorological Organization WMO

Geneva, Switzerland (WMO) - Sea-surface temperatures in the central and eastern tropical Pacific are forecast to increase to record levels during October-November-December 2026, reflecting the strengthening of the El Niño event which will drive weather patterns and impact economies, ecosystems and communities across the globe. The monthly Global Seasonal Climate Update from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) says that El Niño will continue to intensify ahead of its forecast peak in December. It is likely to bring above-average temperatures to much of the globe and shift rainfall patterns, increasing the risk of drought and floods in different regions. The Global Seasonal Climate Update provides authoritative information about large-scale climate drivers. These include the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO), the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) and tropical Atlantic sea-surface temperatures which all impact seasonal temperature and rainfall. It complements WMO’s El Niño/La Niña Update, which is issued quarterly. “El Niño is firmly established and strengthening rapidly.

Big Step Toward World Series Three-Peat: Dodgers Oust Braves To Reach NLCS - FOX Sports

Another step toward a World Series three-peat. The Los Angeles Dodgers are back in the NL Championship Series for the third straight season after eliminating the Atlanta Braves with a 4-1 win on Wednesday in Game 4 of the NL Division Series. Facing a 3-2 count and two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning, Andy Pages hit a bases-loaded single off Robert Suarez to drive in two runs and break a 1-1 tie. Pages' hitoff Suarez's fastball was the Dodgers' first hit with runners in scoring position the entire series – driving in Teoscar Hernandez and Tommy Edman. Max Muncy's homer in the ninth inning gave the Dodgers another insurance run in the win. It was Muncy's third home run of the postseason, and 19th of his career in the playoffs. The Braves scored first in the opening frame after Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow's wild pitch allowed Michael Harris II to score. In the top of the second, the Dodgers then capitalized on a Braves' mistake when Shohei Ohtani reached home on shortstop Mauricio Dubón's throwing error. The Dodgers will now await the winner of the NLDS series between the Brewers and Padres to see who will be their opponent for the league pennant.

For the third game they should go crazy with the subtitle. Something like... Dark Arisen. Neal Ronaghan: Dragon’s Dogma wasn’t a game most expected to get a sequel. The Capcom RPG came out in 2012, making its way to Switch in 2019, and was more or less an acquired taste. It’s a systems-heavy RPG built more around real-time combat, weird physics interactions, and a lot of persnickety character builds. Dragon’s Dogma 2 existing is a miracle, seemingly willed by dedicated developers within Capcom, and originally came out in 2024 on Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5. Two years later, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming to Switch 2 at the same time as the major “Dark Arisen” expansion. The Switch 2 release has the benefit of coming with the expansion as well as benefitting from a cadre of game updates in the past two years. I always meant to check out the sequel when it came out, but I never got around to it so this Switch 2 release has been a pleasant surprise. However, John Rairdin did play it initially. So John - what is so cool about Dragon’s Dogma 2? John Rairdin: What initially struck me about Dragon’s Dogma 2 back when it originally released, was how confident it was in ignoring the
