"We're not quite at the pre-production stage yet"
CD Projekt Red has described its mysterious new game, which is currently known by its codename Hadar, as its "biggest project to date", revealing it's taken "several good years" to reach its current state, and it's still not even in pre-production.
As Nintendo has pulled back the curtain on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, we’ve begun to get a better understanding of how this Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive will look and feel to play. IGN has already got you covered with an extensive hands-on preview, as well as a roundup of all the changes we’ve noticed so far compared to the N64 masterpiece. But now, Nintendo has released two new trailers (TV spots for Japan) that, while brief, reveal a tantalizing glimpse at some never-before-seen characters, chief among them Dark Link.[任天堂HP]Nintendo Switch 2 ソフト『ゼルダの伝説 時のオカリナ』のCMを公開しました。#時のオカリナ #ゼルダの伝説40周年https://t.co/Y0gB7x0RUN— 任天堂株式会社 (@Nintendo) October 16, 2026
Warning! Potential spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake follow… Fans of the original game will know Dark Link well. He’s a shadowy, mirror-image doppelgänger of Link who serves as the mini-boss of Ocarina’s iconic Water Temple. You fight him in a fog-filled room with shallow water and a dead tree in the center, in what is one of the more memorable battles in the game.
Magic: The Gathering's new Foundations Commander decks are back in stock at major online retailers, including Amazon, after shortages since their arrival alongside Reality Fracture. The five decks arrived on October 2, 2026, giving players an accessible way to get started with Commander, MTG's most popular multiplayer format. Each deck is super affordable, with a different mono-color strategy built around a familiar creature type or playstyle, from Angels and Dragons to Dinosaurs, Zombies, and artifacts. MTG’s Foundation Decks Are Almost All Back In StockIt’s worth noting right off the bat that, sadly, the price has crept up on some of these precons. Despite an MSRP of $30, they’ve been climbing a little due to months of intermittent stock shortages for preorders and since launch at the start of October. Yet, despite this, there are still some fairly good deals up for grabs when you compare prices to current market rates at TCGplayer. For example, Reign of Dragons (the mono-red deck) is available for $35.44 at Amazon right now, while the zombie-focused mono-black deck, Wretched Ranks, is $39.99.
The latest game to pass a 1 million copies sold milestone is Control Resonant. Developer Remedy Entertainment broke the news yesterday, roughly three weeks after the game's release, revealing that Resonant is now the fastest-selling game in the Finnish studio's 31-year history.
Remedy didn't share a digital/physical split, nor say which platform led sales, but these are good numbers for a Remedy game, and even more impressive considering the unusually packed September release schedule Resonant released into.
No more having DLC decimate your precious 100% completion badge
Steam has a new feature in beta aimed at helping completionists feel like they've got a bit more of a handle on their never-ending quests to 100% games whose trophy lists keep on growing and evolving. Steam achievements can now be grouped into sets determined by the developers, creating a means of separating off the likes of DLC trophies from the base game's to-do list, thereby making it clearer what you've done so far and where you might want to focus next.
Ever since we first saw Peak climb onto PC last year, we have been jonesing for a Switch 2 port. Aggro Crab and Landfall Games have been teasing that something was in the works for a few months, and now we finally know what it was: Peak is coming to Switch 2!

Rockstar’s wild marketing push for GTA 6 is well underway, with the latest seeing modded cars cruising around Miami. The GTA 6 developer pimped out some real-world vehicles to look like their in-game counterparts and showed them off around The Magic City. The cars rocked Leonida license plates — the plates you’ll see in the game’s fictionalized Florida — and drove around in a tight convoy, with a VCPD-liveried Lamborghini police vehicle in the mix. There was also a McLaren, kitted out to look like a real life Progen Emerus. Other looks included real-life takes on the Cheetah, the Coquette D10, the Tempesta, and the Manana. I can’t even imagine how much this cost to put together. “That Vice City Police Huracan is FIRE,” said one X / Twitter user. “Miami is so unserious for turning a game launch into a city-wide event like this is just a normal Tuesday for them,” said another.
RuneScape: Reignited, a shiny new version of the long-running British MMORPG, has been cancelled less than two weeks after it was revealed.
RuneScape Reignited - a major reveal during RuneFest earlier this month - was to be a game mode which would allow players to start fresh characters with a separate player-economy from regular RuneScape accounts, meaning they could only buy and sell items between themselves. Reignited accounts would also be prohibited from tackling bosses with regular RuneScape accounts. It was an attempt to court new players to the game. However, it was immediately met with fierce feedback from long-time RuneScape players.

Nintendo has put out a new ad for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on its YouTube channel for Japan, showcasing some of the more darker aspects of the upcoming remake.
So it starts off with Ganondorf doing his plinky-plonky thing on his ludicrously large piano, before launching into a bunch of clips featuring some of the game's iconic enemies.
Season 5 launched in Battlefield 6 this week as planned, and though most of the new additions - new maps, weapons and vehicles, and gameplay changes - were well received, the season began on a low note due to accusations of generative AI use and because of a major hit to XP gain.
Upon launch, Season 5 players discovered they weren't earning as much XP as they used to. To make matters more confusing, Battlefield Studios did not communicate any change to XP earn rates prior to the patch's release. The developer has now said the change was "unintended" and reverted XP earn-rates to their previous values.
