Site searchHalloween 'bigger than Christmas', say businesses5 days agoAna da SilvaWest of EnglandCATARINA VIEIRACatarina Vieira spends £150 to £200 on Halloween decorations and eventsHalloween has become so popular that some attractions now make more money from the spooky season than Christmas, operators say. From pumpkin festivals and haunted mazes to zombie experiences, businesses say demand for Halloween events has soared as the celebration grows from a single night into a month-long attraction. At Avon Valley Adventure Park near Bath, Halloween activities now generate around a third of the site's annual income. Founder Doug Douglas said: "Halloween is really important for us, it has surpassed Christmas. ""We make half of our turnover in October, and one third comes from the week of Halloween alone," said David Gaze, owner at Chaplins fancy dress shop in Bristol. Retailers, farm attractions and scare parks say people are spending more on costumes, decorations and immersive experiences, helping to make October one of their busiest times of the year. Chaplins has been a staple in the city centre for 35 years, back when people wore fancy dress on New Year's Eve.
Sony is leaving aftermarket car audio, according to an email sent by the company to dealers in Europe and North America. While a press release hasn’t been shared at this point, it seems Sony is only informing about the first deadline in its planned retirement from the aftermarket car audio business, with more information to be provided as the plan progresses.
Sony will continue shipments until this date, meaning that dealers that are part of its network will continue to receive Sony-branded car audio products. However, the goal right now is to clear out as much inventory as possible, so once the company sells out a certain category, no new units would be shipped to dealers.

Trump is trying — and failing — to bring down gas prices ahead of the midterm elections in the US.
President Donald Trump is running into the limits of his influence as he seeks to bring down sky-high gas prices ahead of the midterm elections. In social media posts and stump speeches across the country, Trump has sought to assure voters that gas prices — a major sticking point for Americans grappling with an affordability crisis — will soon go down. At the White House on Friday, for instance, Trump recalled seeing gas prices below $2 a gallon in Iowa before the US and Israel launched surprise strikes on Iran in February. "We'll be down to those levels soon," he said. The numbers and the trajectory of conflicts around the world, however, portend a different story. As of Sunday, AAA reported that the average price of regular gas in the US was $4.36 per gallon. At this time last year, that number was $3.09. Diesel prices have also skyrocketed, reaching $6.28 per gallon earlier this month. Early Monday, Brent crude, the international oil benchmark, was trading about 2% lower at around $103 a barrel.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A Green Bay record shop is celebrating 15 years in business. Rock N’ Roll Land owner Todd Magnuson says community support and renewed interest in physical music have helped the store keep growing. Magnuson opened with just eight racks of mostly used records. Today, he says the shop has about 30. Word of mouth, Record Store Day, and in-store listening events have helped bring customers in. He says the mix of new visitors and longtime regulars has made the milestone possible. “It’s that whole combination of the community and just the amount of friendships that we’ve made over the years as well,” says Magnuson. Magnuson says younger customers are also discovering CDs and records, and the shop’s listening events bring music fans togetherCopyright 2026 WBAY. All rights reserved.

The federation said that the regulator had previously rejected part of these amounts or that they are the subject of disputes with third parties. Applications for 2027Ten distribution companies submitted applications for the indexation of multi-year tariffs for 2025–2030 for 2027, as well as for other tariff adjustments for end consumers.
