‘Musk’ has already gotten under Elon Musk’s skin - Jamaica Gleaner

VENICE, Italy (AP): Elon Musk has called filmmaker Alex Gibney a lot of names leading up to the theatrical release of the documentary Musk, which is playing in select theatres in New York and Los Angeles and expands nationwide on Friday. Over the past few weeks, Musk has posted on X that Gibney is an “idiot,” a “shill for the far left”, and a “tinfoil hat crackpot” with “zero credibility”. When the documentary was announced three years ago, he called it a “hit piece”. After its première at the Venice Film Festival last month, Musk wrote that dog faeces are “worth more respect than Gibney”. The trillionaire has reportedly not yet seen the film and did not respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press. The documentary is facing more than a war of words from Musk, however. The film’s distributor, Bleecker Street, has not been able to run paid advertisements on several major social media platforms. YouTube, where the trailer had been available through regular channels, and Meta have since reversed course, saying that it had been flagged for “political content”.

Q1 Earnings Roundup: Bally's (NYSE:BALY) And The Rest Of The Consumer Discretionary - Casino Operator Segment - TradingView

The end of an earnings season can be a great time to discover new stocks and assess how companies are handling the current business environment. Let’s take a look at how Bally's BALY and the rest of the consumer discretionary - casino operator stocks fared in Q1. The Consumer Discretionary sector, by definition, is made up of companies selling non-essential goods and services. When economic conditions deteriorate or tastes shift, consumers can easily cut back or eliminate these purchases. For long-term investors with five-year holding periods, this creates a structural challenge: the sector is inherently hit-driven, with low switching costs and fickle customers. As a result, only a handful of companies can reliably grow demand and compound earnings over long periods, which is why our bar is high and High Quality ratings are rare. Casino operators run gaming resorts and facilities that generate revenue from gambling, hospitality, food and beverage, and entertainment offerings. Tailwinds include pent-up travel demand, expansion into new jurisdictions legalizing gaming, and growing interest in integrated resort developments in Asia and the Middle East.

AI Short Dramas: Not a "Predatory Hunt" – The Daily Entertainment Reality of 800 Million Users - 36Kr

On October 9, a college freshman posted on Xiaohongshu: "AI manhua dramas have ruined my dad. " She wrote that her father's dark circles from watching manhua dramas are even more prominent than when he took care of her during her senior year of high school; after working out after work, he skips showering first to watch until past 10 p.m., and even after being urged to take a shower, he continues watching until the wee hours of the morning, then gets up at around 5 a.m. to keep watching; he watches while using the toilet at home, and even broke his midday nap habit at work just to watch manhua dramas. When he ran out of mobile data, he secretly used her phone to add data to his own line. Later, this story was reconstructed and reposted by media outlets. On October 12, which is today, the topic "AI short dramas are hunting down middle-aged men" hit the Weibo hot search list. But the so-called "hunting" targeting middle-aged men is actually more like an entry point that fits public sentiment. Because almost at the same time, the topic "AI manhua dramas are everywhere" also made it to the hot search list.
