Microsoft is in the middle of decoupling its cloud gaming service from Game Pass. Starting today, Xbox Insiders will have the option of streaming games even if they aren’t current subscribers. It’s turning what was once known as Xbox Cloud Gaming into Xbox Cloud Playtime with a pay-as-you-go model that’s more flexible. The program is expected to roll out “more broadly” in November. At that point, people will be able to pay for cloud gaming time a la carte starting at $0.40 an hour. Here are the pricing packages: 10hrs for $4 25hrs for $8 50hrs for $12 These “Cloud playtime packs” are ad-free and “high-quality streaming,” but Xbox has also moved toward offering an ad-supported streaming tier for people who just want to try it out or are less worried about connection quality and interruptions. This new model comes as Xbox has started limiting the number of hours existing Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can stream each month. How do the prices compare to those from competitors like Geforce Now? Nvidia’s cloud gaming service requires you to already own the games but provides up to 100 hours of “premium monthly playtime” for just $10 a month.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Narrows Release Window Following Player Feedback
Bandai Namco announced a narrower release window for the upcoming multiplayer-enabled brawler Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, although it's not too much more specific. Previously, the publisher had stated that the sequel to 2016 fan-favorite would arrive in 2027. Now, it's turned that from a 12-month window into a six-month one, saying that it'll be out in the second half of 2027. "Today we shared more information about battle customization and PvE missions," producer Masayuki Hirano said. "I wanted to use this opportunity to deliver a message to our fans. Over the past several months, we have continuously revealed new information to all of you and, in return, have received valuable feedback. We are truly grateful for that support. Based on the feedback and survey results we have gathered, we have already held discussions with the development team and announced certain areas where we intend to make improvements in response. "Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a series that we build together with the players through launch, and throughout its post launch life as well," he continued.

GTA 6‘s First TV Ad Cuts The Spicy Shower Scenes
Last night, the first television advertisements for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 were broadcast during some NBA basketball games. And it’s basically just the launch trailer from last week, but with a few of the spicier bits featuring sex in the shower completely missing. On October 20, as spotted by numerous people on social media, a slightly modified version of the recently released GTA 6 launch trailer was broadcast during opening night of the NBA season. Specifically, people online saw the ad while watching a New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers game. Others reported seeing the ad, or a similar version, during a Pistons/Celtics game and a Thunder/Spurs game that same night. It seems that these moments were a bit too spicy for broadcast television. Guns, explosions, robbery, and other criminal mischief and violence are fine.

BioWare’s Closure Reportedly Won’t Affect The Mass Effect TV Show
Electronic Arts, in yet another example of being a short-sighted, money-hungry corporation that cannot manage its assets to save its life, shut down Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer BioWare this morning. This included the cancelation of the in-development fifth Mass Effect game, but according to IGN‘s sources, this won’t affect Amazon’s upcoming live-action series set in BioWare’s universe, so there’s still more Mass Effect on the way, I guess. The outlet’s sources confirm that Amazon intends to move forward with the show at Amazon MGM Studios, and that all creatives who were attached to the project remain on board. Not much is known about the series just yet, but it will take place after the original trilogy starring Commander Shepard. BioWare confirmed as much last year on N7 Day, the studio’s annual celebration of the sci-fi series, saying that the video games, which players could create and customize the main character and make decisions, were meant to capture the player’s story, and without the player, that story shouldn’t be retold.

GTA 6's Fast Food Restaurant, Burger Shot, Is Coming to Real Life in the Miami Heat's Arena
Updated: Oct 21, 2026 11:15pm UTCOne of the most iconic fast food restaurants from the GTA universe is becoming real ahead of GTA 6's release. Rockstar Games' takeover of Miami is continuing to expand with a real-life version of Burger Shot, a famous fast-food restaurant in the GTA franchise. A fan on X shared the first images and info about the burger joint with GTA fan accounts, noting that it would be available at the Kaseya Center, which is the arena where the Miami Heat play. It's unclear if the actual menu will be themed after the in-game restaurant, but it's sort of hard to imagine it will be. In GTA, Burger Shot pokes fun at fast food joints like McDonald's and Burger King for their extremely unhealthy meals. In the game, Burger Shot has menu items like "The Heartstopper," which features seven patties stacked high between a variety of toppings. Miami's Kaseya Center has rebranded its burger restaurant as Burger Shot with Macca & Friends and Vice City posters also appearing inside the venue as part of #GTAVI's marketing campaign. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Review So Far
This is a standalone review that covers only Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's DMZ mode. You can find our campaign review here, with multiplayer impressions to follow after launch. Extraction shooters feel a little like a modern trend, with some heavy hitters like Marathon and Arc Raiders shaking the table within the last year or so, but they’ve been a growing experiment in the shooter space for the past decade or so. Call of Duty dabbled in it with the original DMZ back in 2022 (you could argue they were late to the party then), and its return in 2026 is timely. But with so much high quality competition on the market, is it welcome? I’ve only dipped my toe in since its “pay to play on time” launch on Tuesday – about five or so hours of vehicle hijacking, SAM site hacking, and target elimination on my docket so far – but this bigger, better DMZ makes a great first impression. The PvPvE dynamic of extraction shooters often lives and dies by how well the mission and level design encourages you to explore, rewards you for overcoming challenges, and guides you to interact with others in order to keep those spoils.
