Allen-Vanguard put into receivership with US$80.3 million owed to Contego lenders - Insolvency Insider Canada
Allen-Vanguard Corporation and UK subsidiary Allen-Vanguard Ltd. were placed into receivership on September 1, 2026, on application by senior secured lenders Contego AV Funding II, LLC and Contego AV Funding II-A, LLC, after years of declining sales left the defence technology group unable to repay approximately US$80.3 million of secured debt. The Ottawa-based group provides radio-frequency technology and engineering solutions used by military, public safety and other security agencies. Its principal Electronic Systems business develops electronic countermeasures designed to prevent the detonation of remotely controlled improvised explosive devices. Before a recent round of temporary layoffs, the company employed approximately 40 people in Canada and ten in the UK, predominantly engineers, scientists, technicians and program managers. Allen-Vanguard Corporation owns substantially all of the group's non-intellectual-property assets, while its wholly-owned subsidiary Allen-Vanguard IPCo Inc. owns the group's intellectual property. The company has been financed under a credit agreement dating to 2013, subsequently amended 16 times.

Meta pauses Muse sharing after researchers find AI chats on the web - The Verge
Emma Roth is a news writer who covers the streaming wars, consumer tech, crypto, social media, and much more. Previously, she was a writer and editor at MUO. Meta says it paused a Muse feature that lets you share conversations with the AI assistant after researchers found the URLs publicly available on the web, as reported by Ars Technica. In a report published this week, researchers at the security firm Claroc say they found more than 6,800 Muse links through public DNS records. “People have the ability to share specific Muse artifacts, which creates a page that can be accessed by those with the link,” Muse spokesperson Tracy Clayton says in an emailed statement to The Verge. “However, we’ve paused this functionality while we review this report and consider changes to how these links can be discovered.”The feature in question allows you to share your Muse conversation with someone else through a link. But, as pointed out by Claroc, the way Meta designed these links made them easy to find. “Muse builds each share’s web address from the share’s title, a short phrase describing the conversation, then a random ID,” Claroc says.
