Two Boston police officers were injured Sunday while trying to arrest a Brockton man suspected of committing a theft at a South End building, police said. Kobe Perrell Nevels, 28, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and larceny from a building, police said. He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Boston Municipal Court, records show. Around 7:30 p.m., officers saw Nevels near West Fourth Street and Frontage Road and matched him to a description of a suspect from a larceny at an apartment building on Harrison Avenue. Nevels tried to run away, police said, and when stopped he allegedly resisted arrest. Two officers were injured and were taken to a local hospital, police said. Their injuries were not life-threatening. Nevels was taken to the Suffolk County Jail for further evaluation, police said. A lawyer for Nevels could not immediately be identified. The incident happened about a mile from Blackstone Square, where two officers were taken to the hospital last week after being injured while arresting a man accused of assaulting multiple people.
