From 2h agoTrump says he will have spent $400m to support Republican candidates in midtermsDonald Trump said that he will have spent $400m supporting Republican candidates in midterm races by the time election day rolls around on 3 November. The staggering amount will be spent through his political operation and aligned Super Pac, Maga Inc. “More than 300 Million Dollars has already been spent on Advertising, Direct and Indirect Voter Contact, Rallies, Rally Arenas, Telerallies, Get Out the Vote Programs, Election Integrity, and more. It is my Great Honor to do so on behalf of the Republican Party, which has done so much to bring our Country back from the Edge of Oblivion,” he wrote on Truth Social. He cited his belief in the Republican party, but also the riots that have swept through France, as his reasons behind the spend. A reminder, Trump has repeated baseless claims that the demonstrations, which have descended into chaos and seen thousands arrested, are the result of mass migration.

US has resumed sharing intelligence with Ukraine about Russian strikes, says Zelenskyy - The Guardian

The US has resumed sharing intelligence with Kyiv about Russian missile strikes, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday after a meeting with the US envoy Steve Witkoff in Norway. He said Ukraine was again receiving advance warnings of ballistic missile attacks, which were seemingly suspended last week by the White House. “Now it works. It’s great,” he said, saying the US move would save lives. The Ukrainian president added: “It’s very important for our people, for children, adults, civilians, because we can hear when ballistic [missiles] is coming. So we are thankful to the American side.”The talks in Oslo took place amid the worst crisis in US-Ukraine relations since Vladimir Putin’s full-scale invasion nearly five years ago. Donald Trump has bitterly accused Zelenskyy of failing to end the war and has said Ukraine needed a new leader. The US president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, joined Witkoff and Zelenskyy by video. Norway’s prime minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, and the Finnish president, Alexander Stubb, also took part, alongside EU and British security officials. Zelenskyy said he had held a “positive” phone call earlier with the US secretary of state, Marco Rubio.

As Trump turns toward Russia, Zelensky drops his restraint - The Kyiv Independent

(Nicolas Economou / NurPhoto via Getty Images)President Volodymyr Zelensky has spent much of the past two years trying to win over Donald Trump. Flattery, constant meetings, and carefully calibrated concessions have become hallmarks of his dealings with the U. S. president. But the strategy has failed, prompting Zelensky to change course and adopt a more confrontational tone. "Frankly, Trump has crossed the Rubicon," a Ukrainian official told the Kyiv Independent, summing up the mood in Kyiv following Washington's latest deals with Moscow and its obstruction of Ukraine's ability to defend itself. Since the February 2025 Oval Office clash, Zelensky and his team have pursued a carefully calibrated diplomatic strategy aimed at avoiding friction with Washington and preventing the U. S. from pulling back its support. They have closely managed their public messaging, repeatedly thanking Trump and his administration, at times almost as a matter of routine. Yet months have passed with little progress in U. S.-mediated peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow.

Rubio speaks to Zelenskyy, denies U.S. is deliberately hindering Ukraine's defences - CBC

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Tuesday that Kyiv is once again receiving early warnings from its partners following recent Russian missile attacks that he said occurred without enough notice. For at least a week, the Ukrainian leader has said that his country's military has not received early warnings about ballistic missiles aimed at the capital. He said such intelligence saves lives by allowing alerts to the public and giving military units time to try to intercept the missiles. Zelenskyy said the change happened after talks with his American counterparts, including a phone call with U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier in the day. "We are thankful that intelligence works now, and I'm speaking about early warning, which is very important for our people, for children, adults, civilians, because we can hear when ballistic is coming," Zelenskyy said on a visit to Norway. "So we are thankful to American side now that it works. "Speaking to reporters in India, Rubio acknowledged mutual frustration between the U. S.
