I can say with near certainty that we’ve all raced 1/64 die-cast cars at some point. Hot Wheels, specifically, but Matchbox surely got track time as well – once they went to the Superfast wheels, that is. Shout out to anyone who was playing with toy cars in 1969, and don’t get me started on Johnny Lightning.
Whether staged side by side on those classic orange track pieces or simply shoved pell-mell across the kitchen floor, door-to-door competition has always been essential to tiny-car play. Today, there’s plenty of YouTube bandwidth devoted to 1/64 diecast action with cars on drag-style and road-racing layouts.

New York City Is Suing A Popular Car-Buying Website, Alleging It ‘Deceives Consumers’ About The Prices Of Cars Sold By Dealerships
CarGurus is a popular car shopping platform that allows users to find and research cars across the country. The platform seems especially useful in helping you gauge how much some dealerships want for a certain car. But New York City has found evidence that such isn’t the case. In a bombshell of a lawsuit, the city is alleging that the CarGurus website’s car pricing features “deceive consumers” by hiding the potentially thousands of dollars in mandatory fees that some dealerships charge on top of asking prices. This, therefore, makes cars sold by some dealers look cheaper than they actually are. On October 5, the City of New York and Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) Commissioner Samuel A. A. Levine have filed suit against CarGurus, Inc., in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County. In New York, a “Supreme Court” is actually the equivalent of a trial court elsewhere in America.

Rivian Just Showed BMW How To Do A Movie Tie-Up That Doesn’t Piss People Off
BMW drew the ire of many autojournalists and, presumably, some car owners when it put what was essentially an advertisement for the new Spider-Man movie in its new electric cars. While this was ultimately a minor thing that could quickly be ignored, what it portended felt major. For an enthusiast, a car is an escape from brands and, yet, here was a brand forcing its way into a car. It doesn’t even matter that Spider-Man is a relatively beloved character. I’d argue that the fact that there was such a knee-jerk reaction to something so uncontroversial just goes to show that the fear of what the future may bring is extremely real.

Porsche’s Driving School Won’t Just Teach You How to Be a Better Driver. It’ll Teach You About Yourself
Like most things in life, there’s no cheat code to become a faster driver. It takes instruction from someone who knows what they’re doing, but beyond that, it takes repetition. Enough repetition, ideally, that you stop actively thinking about what to do in a specific situation, and the right behavior becomes your natural, automatic response. The road to get quicker is a long one and truly never-ending if you’re committed enough. I appreciated just a piece of that journey out in Birmingham, Alabama, at Barber Motorsports Park, courtesy of the Porsche Track Experience (PTX) program.
