He is published in multiple print and digital publications, including SoCal's own Beer Paper LA, Avalon Fantasy Magazine, and CSU San Marcos' 318 Journal. He has been creating automotive content since 2019 after buying his first barely-running car (a 2008 Audi A4 S-Line), then took five years to modify his daily driver into a less daily-able driver: his 2008 Infiniti G37 coupe. His current focus lies in off-roading his 2000 4Runner SR5.
We love finding budget off-road trucks and SUVs, since the cheaper the car, the less you mind beating it up on a trail. However, some models are inexpensive for a reason. In the case of 2000s Nissan models, including the Frontier, Xterra, and Pathfinder, buyers should be wary of one massive problem that keeps their price tags in check: the dreaded Strawberry Milkshake of Death (SMOD). One bad seal can cripple these otherwise reliable body-on-frame 4x4s.

Here's How Much 2021 BMW M340is Have Depreciated In 5 Years
If you're sold on the idea of a wild, exhilarating Bavarian compact sports sedan but feel you can't cope with daily driving a BMW M3, the tamer, M340i-badged BMWs might appeal. Being upper-trim-level models themselves, these "M3 Lite" models offer similar top-level comfort, handling, and punchy performance without sacrificing efficiency, practicality, or features that make the daily grind more manageable. At the heart of these models is one of the very best inline-6 engines around, the venerable B58 turbocharged mill that has also been used in cars like the A90 Toyota GR Supra and Ineos Grenadier. The energetic engine develops 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, which Car and Driver says allows these rear-wheel-drive compact sports sedans to crack 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds. Behind such an abundance of performance, however, is a car that still suffers from depreciation, even if not quite substantial. Rear-wheel-drive examples of the 2021 BMW 340i originally sold for $55,695 before extras, but you can now find used models from $35,000, according to Kelley Blue Book (KBB) data, which captures used car prices across dealerships.

This New Italian Sports Car Is The Closest Thing To A Modern Ferrari 308
A tribute to the Ferrari that went rally racing? We're listening. Italian brand AC Motorsport has unveiled a modern take on the iconic Ferrari 308, created in partnership with local engineering and racing car firm Michelotto. The car, badged the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo, prioritizes a pure driving experience rather than earth-shattering performance like so many other new exotics.

Here’s Everything Wrong With My ‘Mint’ $1700 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Last weekend I purchased a new 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee after realizing that my 5-speed “Holy Grail” project hadn’t gone anywhere in five years and wasn’t likely to go anywhere in the next five years. This nice 1993, I figured, would replace that project and give me an opportunity to drive a ZJ now instead of sometime far in the future. There’s only one issue: There’s no chance I can drive this thing now, as it’s got some issues. Here’s what they are. When I first saw this Jeep ZJ, I knew I was buying it. The shiny paint, the 100% rust-free body, the rare unkillable AW4 automatic, the 95,000 miles on the odometer, the low $1700 asking price — it was a no-brainer.

GM is betting on battery cells that don’t use lithium [updated]
GM has partnered with Peak Energy to develop next-generation sodium-ion battery cells, but they’re not going into EVs – they’re for grid-scale energy storage projects. GM Ventures is making a strategic investment in Peak Energy. June 10, 2026: Under the partnership, GM will develop the sodium-ion cells in its Michigan battery labs and retain exclusive manufacturing rights. Peak Energy will integrate the cells into its battery storage systems as it ramps up US manufacturing.
