Miroslav Holinka scores first AHL goal as Toronto Marlies extend winning streak to four in Belleville - Maple Leaf Hot Stove
The Toronto Marlies continue to find ways to win amid a great start to their regular season. In Belleville on Saturday, the momentum swung multiple times as the two teams combined for nine goals. The Marlies bounced back from a terrible start and dominated most of the five-on-five action en route to a 5-4 overtime win. First Period The Marlies’ first line almost struck immediately after the opening puck drop, but Logan Shaw and Brendan Brisson couldn’t shovel the puck home from close range. The three minutes following that early chance were a mess, leading to an opening goal for Belleville. After Oskar Pettersson dispossessed a flat-footed Noah Chadwick inside the blue line, Pettersson surged into the right circle and scored with a low finish. The next goal resulted from the Marlies getting caught with too many players above the puck, including Chadwick in the neutral zone. Belleville attacked in transition, generating a 2-on-1 that Ryan Suzuki finished off on a feed from Sammy Blais. The Marlies needed a quick response, and one arrived 26 seconds later as Belleville switched off.

Titans reportedly released Jordan Elliott after he fetched gun following scuffle in practice - The Guardian
Jordan Elliott, the defensive lineman released Tuesday by the Tennessee Titans, reportedly went to his car to retrieve a gun after an altercation in practice last Thursday. Ordered to leave the field after a scuffle with right tackle JC Latham, Elliott took off his pads, left the facility and went to the players’ lot where security cameras captured the scene, according to multiple reports from A to Z Sports and KPRC2. Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers reportedly talked Elliott down and no one was hurt. Elliott did not practice Friday due to “personal reasons” and was inactive for Sunday’s 26-20 win against the Indianapolis Colts. After reviewing the footage, the Titans opted to release the 28-year-old, who had signed a two-year, $8m deal during the offseason. “On Thursday 15 October, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott,” the Titans said in a statement. “Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter. “Elliott appeared in the first five games of the season for the Titans.
