If the IONIQ 5 isn’t big enough, Hyundai is preparing to introduce the IONIQ 7, set to fill the gap between the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9.
While the IONIQ 9 was set to fill the spot, initially called the “SEVEN” Concept, Hyundai decided the three-row SUV was a better fit as its flagship model, like the Kia EV9.

The Factory Inline-Six Hot Rods Mercedes-Benz Created 16 Years Before AMG Even Existed
James Kelly didn't grow up knowing he wanted to be a writer, but once he fell into the whacky world of automotive journalism, he hasn't wanted to leave. In college, he found ways to make every paper he wrote related to automobiles and even hosted a show on the campus radio station called "The Engine Block. " James's experience involves road-testing brand new cars, breaking old cars, and everything in between. In German automakers' alphanumeric naming structure, there are letters and numbers that stand tall above the rest. “S” is the longstanding designator for the premier Mercedes-Benz executive sedans, and “7” adorns BMW’s high-class four-door. Audi uses A8 for its competitor in this segment. Meanwhile, Porsche certainly needs no explanation for its three-digit icons, often starting with "9. " The number 300 has designated some of the most impressive vehicles to come out of Mercedes-Benz, with the 300 SL from the 1950s likely the most famous among them. Though less celebrated than the 300 SL, the W188 300 S, also from the '50s, was one of the first performance grand tourers Mercedes built, long before AMG even existed.

Wilhelm's first experience as a motoring writer came in the early 2000s during job shadowing at Auto Express and Autocar magazines in the UK. Subsequently, he became a full-time motoring writer, contributing to websites and magazines across South Africa, the UK, the USA, and Germany. In South Africa, he has built a strong client base of owners and collectors who have given him access to their cars for feature stories. Depreciation is truly the friend of secondhand car buyers. It has created compelling opportunities in the used luxury-car market, allowing buyers to get behind the wheel of German executive cars that originally commanded substantial prices, for a fraction of their showroom prices. Despite their significantly lower used values, these vehicles still offer features that feel remarkably modern, including sophisticated infotainment systems, digital instrument clusters, and advanced driver-assistance technology. However, an attractive purchase price does not automatically translate into affordable ownership. Maintenance, repairs, and the potential for further depreciation remain important considerations when deciding whether a used luxury car represents genuine value.

Mercedes-AMG's GT SUV Is More Than Just A 1,153 HP Beast
The first high-riding member of the AMG GT family is here with three fully electric powertrain options and fake engine noises Mercedes-AMG is working on several new V8 models, but at the same time, it's been developing this: the new GT SUV, its first-ever electric SUV. While it could easily be dismissed as just another absurdly powerful family hauler, the brand says it has real sports-car DNA and offers much more than insane straight-line performance.

High depreciation in the luxury segment is nothing new, and in fact, it's something we've covered here plenty of times in the past at CarBuzz. However, while there certainly is plenty to celebrate about a $40,000 luxury sedan now selling for $12,000, or tanking EV prices, this piece zeroes in on some of the biggest losers when it comes to plummeting values. Fully loaded SUVs from some of the most prestigious automakers are, on paper, properly desirable cars.

This GM Plant Might Be Headed For An 18-Month Production Hiatus
Classic gems, tasteful customs, legendary supercars - for Silvian, they're all fair game. He's been in love with cars and motorcycles for as long as he can remember, so it made perfect sense to eventually turn that passion into a full-time writing career. Around six years and more than 3,000 articles later, he is still going strong and doesn't plan on hitting the brakes anytime soon. About a year ago, General Motors said it will be axing the current Cadillac CT5 after 2026, and production is scheduled to end in December. That said, the CT5 will be returning in about two years as a 2029 model, but the timeline leaves us with some important questions regarding one of GM’s production facilities. We’re referring to the Lansing Grand River plant up in Michigan, whose future seems very uncertain until CT5 production resumes. The factory might be on its way toward an extended pause while the next Cadillac luxury sedan is being developed, as GM hasn’t clarified its plans in that regard.
